In 2022, I had the honor of photographing Ret. Lt. Col. Enoch “Woody” Woodhouse at the 74th Best of BU Alumni Awards. One of the last surviving Tuskegee Airmen, he carries with him a legacy of courage, resilience, and change.

This week, he turned 99.

From enlisting at 17 to serving as a finance officer for the Tuskegee Airmen, earning degrees from Yale and BU Law, and becoming a lifelong advocate for justice—his story is living proof of the power of perseverance and dignity in the face of injustice.

Grateful to have crossed paths with someone who didn’t just witness history—he helped shape it. And even more grateful to help preserve it.
