I love supporting small businesses in my community and as a pet parent, I only want the best for my boys. Macky needed a bath so we stopped by for a DIY wash. I love how many options they have in shampoo and conditioner so we can meet Mack's coat needs. He loves that he gets treats and a pup cup with his bath. Not only that but they've got a selection of brushes to use, a happy hood for blow drying, and aprons to keep me dry. I usually let him pick out a chew before we head home since a bath at Ma and Paws is always a ...pawsitive experience.

Just working on client content in while waiting on my car. I'm pretty loyal to them because of how they treated me in my early 20s and I was barely scraping by and my car seemed to have constant problems. Doesn't a good client experience make all the difference?

Sorry, I went a little MIA for a while! I got to go on the most amazing cruise to the Bahamas with my sister. It was my first cruise, and it was an absolute blast. What made it even better? It was cruise!! That's right, 5 glorious days of sun, water, and getting my face melted by bands like Yellowcard and Mayday Parade.

The most exquisite part? Being with people who get me! As adults, we don't often have much choice of who we interact with. As a small business owner, I get to have some control, picking and choosing my clients. But there it was all amazing people from start to finish!

When it comes to social media, it can seem like we want to be as palatable as possible. We want to be nice and approachable. But what makes you stick out, what makes followers and fans out of people, is when you let your weirdness shine! When you connect with people on the unique things you love! Mine is music and dressing like a toddler and tattoos and delicious food! Yours might be your faith or your kids or your heritage, or your location. But you've got to let your freak flag fly!

If you come of generic and dare I say, normal, you'll be forgettable. Will everyone like it? No! My boyfriend didn't come on the cruise because he would've hated it! So you might not have everyone in the world follow you, purchase from you, connect with you. But I can guarantee that there are enough people out in the world who love the things you love enough to support your dreams! Get out there and show them!!

Besides working full time and running my own business, I also bake sour dough bread. I actually started my small business so I could support people who dream like me. I am not in a space or time in my life where I can make bread or canned goods full time(that loaf took about 24 hours) but I dream of the day where I get to share the good things in life with the world.

I love visiting places like or where I can explore local creators who bring value to my community. I dream of a world with less chains and more mom and pop shops, where I know who baked my bread, or the farmer who grew my crops. Support your local small business because these are the people who actually need your support.

On Monday I got to attend a Mastermind put on by about how to take better photos with your cellphone. Now you may be thinking 'But you're a social media manager! Don't you know all of this already?' I am a firm believer that we all have room to grow in every capacity.

Not only that, but I also got to network with some truly amazing women. One of the hardest parts of being an entrepreneur to me is the loneliness. But who says it has to be lonely? I also believe that there is more than enough business and money in the world, we just need to get a little better about sharing.

I attended a hosted by tonight and had so much fun. As you can see from that second photo I was a little nervous to be there. Gabi talked about how if we don't own our story we are destined to never reach fulfillment. So I owned my story!

I'm new to the social media game and the entrepreneurship side of things but I'm running in with open arms for a big old bear hug! It's not easy to do the things that scare us but that is what makes it worthwhile. I met some AMAZING women there! Shout out to for talking books with me! And for gassing me up when I got head shots done. It was a terrifying night but I had fun.

I had fantastic conversations with people about how if we don't put effort into building the world we want to live in, then that world won't exist. I want to exist in a world where small businesses thrive and support each other, don't you?

This comic may not make you chuckle but the fact that they're called living rooms is because they were parlors for displaying the dead back in the day. Quite literally we used to host funerals for loved ones in our own homes, in our parlors to be exact. The change to living room was made in the early 20th century when more funerals were taking place outside the home. It's also why we call a funeral home, a funeral parlor.

Now what does this fun fact brought to you by my dark sense of humor have to do with social media? Sometimes we just need to call it something else! Sometimes we need to call it marketing or promotion or advertising. Or maybe we need to reframe our product, our service, our offer. Reframing something can help us see the potential in a new light. Our dusty, dark, macabre parlors, could be lively, uniting, exciting living rooms! Next time you're not sure what to post for your business consider what you could reframe it as. Are you trying to sell? Or are you trying to share what you have to offer? Are you trying to entice? Or are you demonstrating value? A reframe can make all the difference.
