I am always looking for innovative ways to help my clients achieve their vision. Recently, I had a client who had a specific style in mind for their project but struggled to find examples and articulate what they wanted. That's where came in!

With the help of cutting-edge AI technology, we were able to generate a number of images and ideas until we found "the one". Our client was able to see a variety of options that perfectly captured their desired style - abstract, geometric, and realistic with colour!

Check out some of the amazing AI-generated images we came up with! These images served as an excellent reference point for our project and ensured that there was no room for confusion as we moved forward.

Which is your favourite?

Brand Reveal: Vale Veterinary and Consulting Services

I’ve been hanging out to share this brand reveal for over a week! This project has been challenging and fun all at the same time.

Vale Veterinarian and Consulting Services is unique from a branding point of view. I’m always talking about the differences between logo design and branding design - in this instance, the company had an extremely strong BRAND with a great reputation but no LOGO and very little to distinguish them in a digital and physical world.

Bringing this design to life was challenging as they have two very different target markets and such a strong brand that it was important to ensure the logo clearly represented that as well as capturing the vet’s unique personality but also ensuring it still ‘spoke’ to the different audiences.

I love the end result and thankfully the client does as well!!

Double-tap this post if you like it!

Last week I quit.

I quit my self-imposed challenge of ‘100 days of design’. The challenge was designed to force me to be consistent with social media posting and build out my Instagram account. The aim was to post for 100 days without missing a day. Midway through I missed a couple of days but owned my error and kept pushing forward. Today should have been the day that I celebrated completion but instead, I have ’13 more days to go’… Meaning over the course of the last 100 days I’ve missed 13 days.

During those 100 days, I’ve:
- Packed up and sold every single thing I own, and that of the families.
- Moved across the world
- Commenced an entirely new life
- Taken on more clients than I could handle whilst still meeting (most) deadlines
- Been wiped out with COVID, twice.

So why quit now?

The reality is, 4 days ago I decided I wouldn’t continue and quit. The quality of my posts (and designs) was getting lower and lower as I tried to keep up with my workload.

What started off as beneficial to my business rapidly became detrimental.

I’ve always been a believer in quality over quantity. So when the quality dropped I decided it was time to quit my self-imposed challenge.

Knowing when to quit is just as important as knowing when to push!

So, what can you expect from me now?

I plan to have a nice balance of client work and case studies, educational posts to help business owners, behind-the-scenes reels, a hefty sprinkling of horse stuff and random grungy-style creations (because I love the style and don’t really care that it’s not my target audience!)

For those that have followed along, thank you! Your support is always appreciated it.

Day 83 | Controversial Opinion

I used to think a designer needed to be an artist. As I grow more as a designer I’ve come to realise it’s simply not true.

The task of a designer is to COMMUNICATE. It’s to take an idea, concept or problem; fully understand the requirements, the back story and the market and then turn it into reality.

If the design has to be explained the entire purpose has been lost whereas art is open to opinion and interpretation.

Day 82 | Client Mood borad

This project is nearly complete so I thought I better post the mood board before the brand reveal!

This project has been an interesting design challenge that I had not anticipated. The client was wonderfully articulate about his design desires and direction, which is always helpful and usually results in a quick turnaround.

My concepts stalled quite quickly as I wasn’t happy with the direction and they all felt a little like things I had seen before.

Branding must be unique and original as well as capture all the subtle details of the brand values and messaging.

Working with my assistant designer, we brainstormed and collaborated until we had some results to be proud of and designs we thought the client would love.

Humorously, our biggest issue was choosing which designs to present to the client! Stay tuned for the brand reveal in the next week or so.

Day 80 | Brand Reveal

I'm super excited to present this Brand Reveal for Equestrian photographer, TinCan Imagery. Siobhan, the human behind the camera, is a wonderful photographer who specializes in equestrian events and private shoots. As a rider herself, she captures a unique point of view and some wonderful candid shots!

This brand design was an unusual project as it was more of a redesign. Siobhan already had a logo but was looking for a more professional brand that matched her quality imagery.

Each horse in the brand is based on her personal competition horse. All three are used to subtly signify that she captures all disciples, as well as tie back to her chosen discipline of Eventing.

The blue in the background is designed to represent the wonderful sunsets and ocean views that are synonymous with her home base of Perth, Western Australia. The individual colour choices are all pulled from here Eventing cross country colours, making them extra special.

We also included a name change to ensure it was unique, memorable, and could flow easily if the business changed direction.

Day 78 | What is a brand suite?

If you're looking to establish a strong and consistent brand identity, a brand suite is a crucial tool in your business and marketing.

A logo suite includes multiple variations of your logo that are designed to look great across different mediums, sizes, and backgrounds. Using a logo suite ensures that your brand is presented professionally and consistently, no matter where it appears.

This helps to build brand recognition and trust with your audience.

Day 75_Surfer Boy Pizza (in-situ)

It's Sunday and I'm drowning under workload, making social media content creation tricky!

So today's post is a little mock-up to see how the design could work in situ.

What do you think? Would you chow down on a surfer boy wood fire pizza?

Day 74_ Surfer Boy Pizza

This design is a passion project - meaning it's not for a real company.

Most clients come to me with an idea of what they are after, but rarely do I get to create for the sake of creating.

So the primary purpose of this design was to create something out of my normal style and have a little fun!

There are some tweaks I would make but, as it's not a real-world project, I had to stop once I had a cool result as playing around doesn't pay the bills!
