Why does raw footage look so… gray?
Because it’s not finished yet.

Here’s the process behind the scenes:

🎬 S-Log, which is the starting point, captures the most data, which is why the footage looks flat and gray.

🎥 Rec. 709 converts that data into a natural, true-to-life image.

🎨 Color grading adds the creative style that brings the final look to life.

What may look simple on screen is the product of careful planning, technical expertise, and creative decisions working together behind the scenes.

What we see vs. what the client sees 📸

Ever wonder what our footage looks like straight out of the camera? Flat colors. Low contrast. Almost washed out.

That’s because we shoot in S-Log3, a log format designed to capture the maximum dynamic range and detail possible.

Shooting in log preserves highlights, protects shadows, and gives our editors far more flexibility in post-production. Instead of applying color to the footage on set, we build the final look intentionally, through color grading, contrast, and tone shaping.

We capture footage that’s built to hold up in post and give brands the flexibility to craft the exact look needed. 🎥

Not our average day at the office.🦒 This was a fun (and hot ☀️) shoot on location with the San Antonio Zoo for Ricos Products.

The artistic direction for this shoot focused on capturing images on disposable film, adding a warm, nostalgic feel that supported the campaign’s creative strategy and made the final content feel more authentic and human.
