Congrats to my friend and former client, Joseph Hoelscher, for winning this case and defending someone who was charged with murder. This article reminded me of a a book written by Michael Stagg and his Nate Sheppard character, defending someone from a similar attack.

Except this was very real for Roger McCracken, his client.

If you are facing serious criminal charges, I'd hire Joe and his team.

Having watched him in court, I have seen help people like McCracken.

The defense said angry, aggressive neighbor Ronnie Riddle gave McCracken ample reason to fear for his family.

Feb. 2 is a very special day for me. I started my Air Force career on this day. However, the best reason to celebrate was the birthday of Kate Wimer over 30 years ago in Denver.

Of course, this is the famed Groundhog Day with the great film of that name with Bill Murray.

The Spurs won two games in a row last night, and the legendary mascot, the Coyote caught a bat with his net.

It's only a matter of time before the Spurs create a new action figure with his bat-chasing attire.

Just wondering Kathy Durkee Banusiewicz, would you buy one of these action figures? And, Jennifer Sutton would you want one of them? Of course, Marty Nerio would want one for her grandchildren.

Reading this story on the Valero-Sunoco merger made me think of those who work for our local energy company. News reports share that 1200 or more will be impacted.

I know Valero will look at transition services, but I wonder if these folks truly understand LinkedIn and its networking capabilities.

One of my VFW poker friends manages the school bus program in San Antonio. When the Cowboys lost a routine NFL game, he shared how many called in sick after that game.

So, I can only imagine his issue today after their blowout Sunday. His saving grace? There's a school holiday today.

Still, Texas drivers should give their local school bus extra space and a smile or two.

As news agencies report from somewhere in Iowa, we are going to see a lot of warmly dressed reporters discussing the weather.

History tells us weather plays an important role in election results. As 2024 begins, it's time to encourage everyone to vote, regardless of their political processes or views.

I want to encourage seasoned voters to reach out to our younger voters to use the ballot box to express their political views.

If early voting is available, pick a date and take your child, nephew, niece, granddaughter, or neighbor and take them to the polling station. Then buy them lunch or a drink.

It's obvious that the Houthis need a public relations professional who can convince me that their battles against Red Sea shipping are not the same thing as the Sand People from Star Wars.

And, I also think of all those sailors who are working tirelessly of our Navy and other military forces who are shooting down their missiles.

When you get a chance, take the time to pray for those warriors.
