This message of identity in God goes deeper than just the proverbs 31 woman. Though this example of purpose and identity is perfect for women, it is also very relevant to men of God.
I think a lot of people spend years trying to become someone they think they need to be. Maybe more successful, confident, outgoing, more like someone else.
But when you read Proverbs 31, you don’t see a woman desperately trying to become someone else.
You see a woman faithfully stewarding who she already is.
She uses the gifts she already has.
She serves her family.
She manages her responsibilities.
She works diligently.
She leads with wisdom.
She fears the Lord.
She wasn’t chasing an identity. She was walking in the one God had already given her.
Sometimes we think the answer is to try harder. To push harder. To become more. But what if the answer is simpler than that?
What if God is inviting you to stop comparing, stop performing, and stop trying to fit into someone else’s calling? What if He’s just asking you to embrace the gifts, personality, strengths, experiences, and purpose He already placed inside of you?
The Proverbs 31 woman wasn’t powerful because she became someone else. She was a power house because she faithfully walked in who God created her to be.
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10
Ps. Sometimes I wonder how old this Proverbs 31 woman was in the Bible. I told my hubby, I think she was years into adulthood. So mature. So wise. Always ready to take action and loved SO big. 🤍 Don’t waste the gifts, experiences and wisdom God has given you friend. People are waiting on them.
