I dont know who needs to hear this, but:

👉 👉 Prioritize your website SPEED above fancy slow loading website designs.

Nobody will see your web design if it takes 20 seconds to load!

Remember, YOUR sites load quicker on YOUR computer and are not an indication of the real load time for your visitors.

Is your pop-up activated the second somone lands on your website! 😳

Imagine if i was a new reader (potential customer) clicking on your website...

I know nothing about your services or you yet...

Why would I want to subscribe or do anything at this point?

Don't annoy your new potential customer!
Dont do it!!!

INSTEAD:
Show the pop-up once the user has scrolled down the home page or spent enough time reading your content. Limit to a few times and avoid showing it every time they come back to your site on click on a new page.

PS: If you didn't convince your reader with your landing page, you would not convince them with a pop-up asking them for something. 😉
