Branding project for 👰🏽‍♀️✨

I have been waiting to share this news. I have been working for and her branding clients the last couple of months and it has been an absolute blast. Taylor owns a marketing agency for wedding creatives and she has asked me onto her team. Getting agency work has always been a path I saw for myself. But with a concentration on wedding creatives?! That’s an absolute dream. 💫

I can’t wait to share some more projects with you guys soon. 💕

This super sweet logo was made for my dear friend 🏄🏼‍♀️☀️

Fun fact about Reagan and I, we both met and started our friendship in San Diego, CA even though we’re both from the Midwest. She’s from Michigan and I’m from Wisconsin! ☃️ We started our businesses around the same time and she has been one of my best friends since.

Starting from just talking about our aspirations to actually seeing them play out for both of us is so cool. She and her partner just become new owners of their own yoga studio. Congrats Reagan and Josh! 🥂

Sometimes a pretty font just isn’t enough!

Do you ever just stare at the graphic on your screen and think something is missing? Or that your designs are feeling a little lifeless lately? I mean sure they’re pretty but they seem a little flat…

Use a combination of these different techniques to make any word stand out on the page…plus isn’t the pattern towards the end too cute?! 🥺💕

I put together a fun mix with a variety of font styles. Everything from simple and bold to chunky and sweet. I made sure to let you know where I found all of the fonts towards the bottom of the post. Here’s to a happy New Year and successful new business quarter! And HELLO to the brand new Pantone color of the year, Viva Magenta 18-1750. ✨

Here are a few of my 2023 business resolutions:

1: 👩🏽‍💻 DEDICATE: Dedicate time every day to work on Virtual Freedom Design
2: 📝 LEARN: Spend more time learning new digital design techniques by following tutorials and participating in design challenges/prompts
3: 🎨 DESIGN: Work on my updated brand (hello Virtual Freedom 2.0) and design my new website

Last night I spent my New Years eve working on a new skill I have been practicing…lettering! I created these numbers from scratch…No template, no type, nothing but rectangles and sketching. You can say this was one of the most relaxed new years eves I’ve had in a long time. Spent the night working on this graphic cuddling next to my newborn. I think I was sleeping during midnight. But hey, that’s baby life! 🤷🏽‍♀️ Would you believe it if I told you I enjoyed it just as much as being in New York last year? 😉 I’m officially a .

For those of you that don’t know, Pantone chooses a new color every year to showcase. The program aims to align color and culture, choosing a color that reflects the global culture at a specific moment in time. Does this color make anyone else feel like 2023 is going to be THEIR YEAR?!

Fun graphic made with the envelope distort tool in Adobe Illustrator. 👩🏽‍🎨 You can achieve this effect super easily with 6 steps start to finish. 👇🏽

1️⃣ Make text
2️⃣ Outline text to turn letters into behaving like shapes
3️⃣ Select all letters and group them together
4️⃣ Select the object
5️⃣ At the top menu bar click object>envelope distort>make with mesh
6️⃣ Set how many rows/columns you want in the mesh and it’s all play from there

For those of you that don’t know I am 40 weeks + 2 days pregnant today. 🤰🏽 Hopefully our baby will make his way here soon. 🤞🏽Maternity leave has been an absolute dream and given me time to rethink what I want for my business and spend some extra time playing with tools like this. I’ve missed it so much.

I loved working with Michelle on the new logo for her Texas-based honey business. 🍯She was even kind enough to send me her product. Her honey sure is delicious and it's always exciting to see a product with my designs on it. Fun fact about Michelle, her and her husband were actually one of my first clients. I designed their logo for their educational technology company based out of Dallas, Texas. 🤠

For every font I choose for my clients I always make sure they have these 3 characteristics to them. Font choice can really make or break a brand so I always advise you to CHOOSE WISLEY. It’s OKAY to update your brand and modernizing the font is one of the best ways to do this.
