Work: A Noble Christian Duty, Part 1 (B)
It’s said that some people are like blisters . . . they never show up until the work is done. Maybe you’ve seen that where you work—folks who seem agreeable to doing any task . . . except the hard parts of the task. You may not realize how strongly the Bible encourages diligence on the job. Join John MacArthur for some important Wisdom for the Workplace tomorrow morning at 2: 30am & 8:00am on KPRZ FM106.1/AM1210, for GRACE TO YOU. www.gty.org

Remembering 9/11 – and the people who passed away on that historic day, like Angie – reminds me of how quickly life can change. It also reminds me that painful memories can point us toward important truths about God and about how we should live. Whether we personally remember the events of 9/11 or we know about it only as an important time in history, here are 5 ways remembering 9/11 can help us grow closer to God.

When children are young, the house is alive with sound.
Tiny shoes by the door. Giggles from the back bedroom. Doors slamming, midnight snacks, the messy rhythm of a busy family.

And parents... though weary... carry it all with full hearts.

But seasons change.
The sneakers by the door disappear.
The laughter fades into memories.
And the rooms grow quiet.

One day, the children step out into life on their own. They chase their dreams, build their homes, and carry forward the love they were given. And as parents, that is the hope... to raise children strong enough to fly.

But it still leaves a silence.
Not a silence of failure, but of fullness. The kind that lingers when a beautiful song comes to an end.

In that quiet, it can be easy to ache for what was. To long for the days when voices filled every hallway. Yet even in that ache, there is a deeper sound... the steady song of God’s goodness.

Because while seasons shift, His love never does.
While children grow and move on, His presence stays.
While rooms may fall silent, His faithfulness still sings over every corner of the home.

“𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘮𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘧𝘶𝘭. 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘮𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘰, 𝘴𝘰 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥.”

Parents may measure time by presence, but God measures it by His promises. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. And even when the house is quiet, His goodness fills the silence with peace.

So today, let your heart rest in this truth:
Children grow. Seasons change.
But the goodness of God never leaves.
