After cold call #50 of the day, I officially decided that I HATED sales.
I didn't dislike sales ... I HATED sales.
This then lead me to avoid sales in my first two businesses ... so you can guess how those went 😅

Instead, I worked on creating my website, obsessing over my color palette, & blogging. I was so focused on creating a business that looked good on the outside that I forgot the most important part of running a business... making money.

It's a bit embarrassing to admit that BUT it was that experience that lead me to understand the importance of having a strong sales mindset.

When we first started ACM, & I worked inside client accounts, I would transform into a DM sales machine because I wasn't afraid of rejection - they weren't rejecting me they were rejecting my client's offer.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And that's EXACTLY what stops so many of you guys! The fear of being rejected, but let me just tell you that it's never about you. You could say the most perfect thing in the DM's and still, have a lead say no.

BUT sales mindset isn't just about being able to take no's. It's about believing so much in your offer that you are laser-focused on the one activity that is guaranteed to move you forward. No, it's not your site or starting a podcast (yes, those things have a time and place as well)

It's about getting scrappy and going out there and talking to people! By out there I mean the DM's!

I so wish I would have known that when I first started out in the online space. The one thing I had sworn off was the one thing I needed to do the most & it wasn't in the form of cold calling but instead, relationship building through the DM's.

Don't let the fear of rejection or the latest marketing trend distract you from your #1 goal..serving people.
