Sometimes we print art.
Sometimes we print mathematics that looks like art. 🤯
This incredible piece from our client Josh is actually an “SL(5) fully reduced hourglass plabic graph.”
The simple explanation? It’s a visual representation of an algebraic expression so massive that writing the entire thing out may literally be impossible on the scale of human civilization.
So instead of writing it, mathematicians are developing ways to calculate with it graphically.
Even the five colors have mathematical meaning, representing geometric structure in a completely different kind of 4 dimensional space.
Do we understand all of it? Nope. 😂
Do we think it’s insanely cool?
Absolutely.
Math, geometry, color and art all colliding in one image. This is one of those projects that makes us love what we do.
