This series was accepted by a noteworthy magazine for publication as I was nervous if they would like it or not! There are huge differences between "taking" and "making" a photo. I love "creating" stories, thinking of the light placement and how the wardrobe will fit with the composition. Don't rely solely on luck to get the results you need; skill, technique and planning are necessary to be consistent.

Lighting... it is the most important element in my style. Being a cinematographer allows me to see in great depth. I use lighting to draw attention to the subject, and I use it the same regardless if its with stills or video production. Photographers, invest into your own shoot to build your portfolio. Create the opportunity, don't just wait for it.

When I took this shot, it was one of the hottest days in a long time. I was drenched in a bucket of sweat and it was a miracle that we pulled off this shot before we both completely melted lol.

San Diego Swim Week was amazing. SHEIN has some of the most stylishly accessible outfits. I loved the lighting that was out at mid day. We started shooting at around 1130 a.m. and it was clear sun. I used my flash as majority fill lighting unless the shadows were too harsh, and switched to using it as a Key Light. Thank you to all my supporters. Please like and share.
