Pro tip: Make space to laugh, learn, create memories and get your hands a little dirty with your team.

At Intesa, we know that strong teams don’t happen by accident. They happen because people intentionally create opportunities to invest in one another.

A couple of weeks ago, our team stepped away from our desks and gathered around pottery wheels for a morning of creativity and connection. While every piece turned out uniquely its own (as expected), what made the day memorable wasn’t just the pottery — it was the thought that went into making it happen.

Maddy Kilkenny passion for building our team culture was evident in every detail she planned for this adventure. From dreaming up a team bonding experience to documenting the day (yes, the entire process on Instagram), she reminded us that meaningful moments are worth creating — and sharing.

And of course, none of this would have been possible without Kathryn Binney O’Connell, who was the perfect partner in bringing this to life. What you won’t see posted on socials is the coordination of logistics, helping to pull off the surprises and the carefully placed hints — she helped turn a fun idea into an experience our team will never forget.

Thank you, ladies, for creating opportunities for us to recharge, connect and bring our team closer beyond the day-to-day work we do together.

These intentional moments matter. They strengthen trust and remind us why we enjoy working alongside each other every day. That’s the foundation of how we show up for our clients, our partners and our community.

Here is to many more moments of investing in each other!

Congratulations to the one and only irreplaceable Margaret Lutz Chantung on being named a finalist for the Diego Business Journal’s 2026 Indispensables Award!

Margaret is the kind of leader every team hopes for. She is thoughtful, dependable and always goes the extra mile for our clients. She leads with care, invests in the people around her and helps our partners navigate every opportunity and challenge with confidence.

Being recognized as “Indispensable” is a testament to the countless ways she strengthens our team, supports our clients and makes a difference behind the scenes every day.

We are so proud to celebrate this well-earned recognition. Congrats to Margaret!

Exciting news: Intesa was just named the “Customers First” winner in the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce 2026 Small Business Awards!

Over the years, we have been fortunate to earn dozens of awards recognizing team and individual successes. But this award…it’s special. This one is the first to *recognize Intesa as a complete organization.* Most thrilling for us is that this shines a light on a value that has been a part of Intesa’s DNA from the day we opened our doors: deep care for and commitment to an exceptional client experience 💖

To our clients, past and present: thank you for trusting us with your missions. Thank you for inviting us to be an extension of your team, challenging us to think creatively and working alongside us to make a measurable difference in the San Diego community (and beyond). This recognition belongs to you just as much as it does to us.

We are incredibly proud of this accomplishment, but even more grateful for the partners and supporters who make our work and success possible. Onward, together!

We’ve got more exciting news to share, and we couldn’t be prouder of this one.

We’re celebrating two promotions on Team Intesa:

is now senior director, strategic communications, leading client projects and campaigns, executive and crisis communications, higher education and institutional strategy, and storytelling. She does it all with grace and kindness — a force to be reckoned with!

is now senior manager, strategic communications, powering client work across media relations and community engagement with energy to spare to elevate every story.

Margaret and Emily, this is so well deserved. We’re lucky to have you both. Congratulations from all of us!

Intesa is growing with intention, strengthening the value we bring to our clients and community.

In April, we welcomed former San Diego County Assistant Chief Administrative Officer as Intesa’s new senior director.

Caroline brings more than 20 years of executive leadership experience in the public sector, leading major initiatives across operations, health and human services, economic development, and government strategy for one of the nation’s largest counties.

As our firm continues to grow, so does our commitment to delivering thoughtful, high-level counsel rooted in experience, relationships and results.

We’re so proud of the team we’re building and even more excited about where we’re headed.

Onward!

At Intesa, we show up and show out for our community and partners. And this past weekend, we were able to do just that — with a lot of joy!

At .familiar’s Abrazo 5K Walk /10K Run on Saturday morning, we joined their mission to build healthy, just and sustainable neighborhoods through every step, smile and connection.

Later that evening, at the Gala, with the support of local farmers, vendors and partners, the event garnered critical support from our generous community to help feed hundreds of thousands of San Diegans in need.

Sunday’s launch of Spark Interactive — a first-of-its-kind mobile learning experience bringing Holocaust education directly to students – drew more than 400 attendees, including Mayor Todd Gloria and Congresswoman Sara Jacobs!

And finally, we wrapped up our inspirational weekend, standing alongside these wonderful organizations doing meaningful, people-centered work throughout San Diego. Now we all need a nap!

At Intesa, volunteerism is not separate from our work. It’s an extension of it.

This National Volunteer Month, we’re proud to share just a few of those moments, not as a highlight reel, but as a reflection of who we are.

Some of the most important work we do doesn’t come with deliverables. It’s showing up not because we have to, but because we believe in it.

For us, doing good isn’t a one-time effort. It’s a value we carry with us every day — National Volunteer Month just gives us a moment to pause and recognize it.

There’s something powerful about telling a story in a room full of communicators who get it.

This week, our Margie Newman Tsay was honored to share that story of what it really looks like to lead through constant change with San Diego Food Bank CEO Casey Castillo at the Public Relations Society of America PRSA Counselors Academy.

We’re proud to partner with the Food Bank, an organization doing critical work every single day to fight hunger across our region. Our role is to come alongside the strength of their amazing in-house team, to listen and help amplify their story.

We know the best stories – the ones that truly resonate – are the stuff of authentic experiences shared together.

Still thinking about Voice of San Diego Women Leading the Conversation last month.

Intesa understands the importance of creating a space to bring together thoughtful, driven women and it’s why we’ve been a longtime sponsor of this event. Here we are able to share perspectives, challenge ieas and elevate the important conversations shaping our region.

We’re grateful to have been part of it and to continue supporting spaces where women’s voices are heard, ideas are exchanged and leaders are lifted up.

Thank you to the panelist speakers, Angela Shafer-Payne, Dr. Fabi Bagula, Erica Pinto and Maya Madsen for sharing your time and experiences.
