i love love love seeing dreamers take the third story website templates and make them their own. alora an amazing job taking the VOLUME TWO website template and transforming it to fit her photography brand. she switched out colors, added in polaroid graphics elements, included a playful script font— and violá! the VOLUME TWO template is now completing her own. and, the best part— it was all done on a drag and drop website template with no coding or photoshop.

hands down, one of the most rewarding projects i've ever worked on is the PEPTALKS™ app. the app was launched in the apple app store in may and already it's making waves.

WEBSITE TIP— clarity and communication is everything. on your website, make sure that you are clearly defining what you do and what you offer. place your services and a short description of the offering somewhere your audience is going to *easily* find.

i recommend having a designated service, offering, or investment page on your website. you can see this in action in the august 08 website template.

when you make things easy for your potential clients to find, they'll be more likely to book with you! because, at the end of the day, clients want to work with someone who makes them feel comfortable and confident. if you instill confidence from the get-go with your website— you'll serve yourself, your business, and your clients well.

WHAT DO YOU WANT? what do you imagine for yourself? your brand?

write it down. imagine yourself accomplishing it and experiencing it.
then, create goals that will help you step towards that vision.

if you are not loving the direction you or your business are going, then remember: you have the power to change it. you have the authority to draw the line and sand and intentionally decide how things are going to go from here.

in a world that is riddled with performance and achievement, that strives to be all things to all people, and seeks perfection around every corner—

remember this:

you were set aside from ordinary purposes.
you were created to lead people to a new way of doing things.

and, with that said—

people don’t need your performance,
they need your presence.

performance is already all around them.
so, they don’t need you to show up perfectly,
without any flaws, and with your mess perfectly tucked away.

they need you—
the real you.

the human being that is figuring things out along the way, who realizes that life and creation is often times a beautiful and chaotic mess, and who understands grace is more powerful than perfection.

they need you to show up just as you are. because, in doing so — it’ll give them permission to do the same.

it’s your bona fide presence that will disrupt a culture and make an impact on people’s lives.
it’s your real and genuine presence that will stand out and cause people to feel seen, heard, and understood.

and, at the end of the day, that is more powerful, impressive, and stunning than perfection could ever be.

so, do away with your strive for perfection.

don’t allow the aim for perfection to keep you from getting started, from advancing forward, or showing up.

because, impact happens when we show up —
when we recognize our presence is enough.

SHINE BRIGHTLY— as human beings, we were created on purpose for a purpose. we were created to contribute something beautiful to this world. we were created to be light and hope in the world. which means, we can’t sit on the sidelines of life— saying nothing, doing nothing, and being nothing. we were destined to shine brightly in this world— in the way that light does.

which means, if we we’re going to show up and the critic is going to show up— we have to learn how to deal with the critics. so, the despite what is spoken and said — we continue to move forward with confidence that we matter, our voice matter, and our ideas are playing a significant role int his world.

because, no matter what anyone says, you and your ideas matter. while you may encounter negative words and opinions as you journey and create, know this: people’s negative words and opinions can never keep you fulfilling the destiny that you were purposed for.

the only thing that can keep you from fulfilling your destiny is getting distracted by their words and letting them soak into you and change how you view yourself and your work. so, be on guard— know who you are. affirm yourself, encourage yourself, and remember that your work has a place in this world.
