If nothing else, make sure these five areas of your are complete, accurate, and up to date:

1. Business information

Go to Edit profile for this. Pay special attention to Name, Address, and Phone (NAP), primary category, and business location/service area. Add links to your website and socials, too.

2. Photos

Word on the street is that the Google algorithm likes to see a consistent stream of photos and videos on Google Business Profiles. Ideally, lots of customers are uploading their own; if not, add them yourself. Try to space out uploads so you're not adding all media at once.

3. Edit services

Get your primary category really very awesomely right (it matters). Add secondary categories + descriptions as appropriate/needed.

4. Edit products

If you sell physical or digital products, add them here with links to purchase options.

5. Bookings

If you run a business that takes bookings, add this option in so someone searching on Google Maps can book you directly. A hair salon or dog grooming business, for example.
