Each Arise Design team member received a small pumpkin and instructions to decorate however they'd like. We need your help deciding which out of all the pumpkins takes the winning prize!

Fireworks and festivities are back for Independence Day in many communities. Here are some Fourth of July celebrations throughout San Diego:

San Diego: Fireworks from four barges on the Bay at 9pm, July 4. Barge locations will be off the shorelines of Shelter Island, Harbor Island, North Embarcadero, and South Embarcadero. Visit bigbayboom.com.

Independence Day Parade: 10am to 12pm, July 3 on Orange Avenue from First Street to Churchill Place and Ocean Boulevard. Livestreamed at tv.coronado.ca.us.

Del Mar Beach: Fireworks at 9pm. Visit mccscp.com.

Carlsbad: Day festivities from 1 to 9pm at Legoland with water balloon toss, sack races, Lego hamburger relay, building challenges, and performances, and a patriotic costume parade. Fireworks at 8:30pm. Visit california.legoland.com.

Ferry Landing Concert: 2 to 5pm, July 3.

Oceanside: City's 133rd annual Fireworks Show at pm, July 3 at El Corazon. Live music and food beginning at 6 p.m. on Rancho del Oro Drive. Health guidelines will be followed. Visit oceansiderec.com or call (760) 435-5041.

Valley Center: Western Days Country Fair & Parade, Guns & Hoses Chili Cook-off from 5 to 7pm, July 2 at the Lilac Fire Station. Country fair entertainment, food, vendors, and beer garden from 5 to 10pm.

With Pride Month, we wanted to call to attention to some organizations focused on making space for the LGBTQ+ community in the design industry. These organizations are working to give designers in the community a safe space to share their voices and connect with others in the LGBTQ+ community.

QSPACE "is a platform for research projects by students and professionals working on queerness in the built environment. As architects, we believe that design can and should play an active role in responding to social change, and as QSPACE, we hope to offer the tools with which to create it. QSPACE pushes for organized action through exhibitions, publications, digital archiving, and design guidelines."

May is for Mental Health Awareness Month. We invite other organizations to join us in spreading the word that mental health is something everyone should care about.

At Arise Design Brand, we manage our mental health by taking breaks throughout the day and going on walks to get coffee. In our client-focused jobs, it's easy to become immersed within the work and we forget to take a moment to take a break and refocus.
