When Catie came to me, she was on the lookout for a website refresh for the organization she runs, Christopher's Haven, a non-profit with a beautiful mission: helping families with children in cancer treatment.

The project touched my heart, and I wanted them to have a website where they could showcase how hard they work to help families, but also how families can use their help to make hard times a bit easier.

Seeing how happy they were with the redesign of their website is what makes me happy as a designer 💛

This is why I like to start my client onboarding with a quick questionnaire about your business and your goals. Your website is your brand's digital home. Starting with a mood board and understanding what others in the same industry are doing is essential to the design process of a successful website.

💡Visual identity: Consistency is key. Use your brand's colors, logo, and fonts throughout your website. Make sure it looks and feels like 'you.'

💡 Storytelling: Share your brand's journey, values, and the faces behind it. Storytelling humanizes your business and creates a connection with your audience.

💡 User experience: Create an intuitive and user-friendly website. Easy navigation enhances your brand's image and keeps visitors engaged.

💡 Building community & trust: If your brand is all about community and trust, offer forums and trust signals. Your website is an extension of your brand's personality.

This service is for those who might have an established business and are currently working with developers but they're lacking a design expert. Here's where I can help you!

My process was totally different when I first started making websites as a freelancer. I wasn't sure how to present my designs, and I was learning the do's and don'ts of web design, what tools to use, and what platforms to learn.

Working with clients with very different profiles and businesses has helped me understand what works and what doesn't, but also helped me learn a more efficient way to work with others.

If you're interested in my web design services, this is a summary of what you can expect the road to look like when working together:

1. Initial discovery call.
Once a client has reached out to me and filled out my contact form, we jump on a call to discuss their business and website needs and goals, timeline, and target audience. This is the time to gather as much information as possible to have a clear idea of what I’ll be building as your designer.

2. Proposal
This is where I put all the information gathered during the discovery call into a document, including web design package offers, timeline, and payment plan. Alongside the proposal, my clients receive a link to submit the initial deposit in order to book the project.

3. Kick-off email with a web design questionnaire, link to the task board, and client to-do list.

4. Design phase.
5. Revisions.
6. Web development. (Psst, this is where the cool stuff happens!)
7. Website walkthrough.
8. Domain setup and launch!

This project was a reflection of how important referrals are. The trust you build with your clients is key when making connections which can lead to more projects with the same clients or new prospects.

I built this modern and minimalistic website for a home management service provider on the East Coast. It was a drastic change from their previous website, and it helped them showcase their service and a sneak peek of the work they can do.
