Hartford is a slow-crafted bitters brand we designed for ’s “Paper Meets Purpose” packaging collection. It centers on an orange-loving oriole mascot and pairs natural fiber papers with specially textured stocks—chosen because they look and feel like an orange peel, helping to echo the physical and flavor properties of the small-batch bitters.

Created for “Paper Meets Purpose” packaging promotion, Sunsalt, a sun-loving skincare line, uses a beach-washed color palette, soft watercolor illustrations, and a micro‑emboss texture reminiscent of sand, all echoing the same promise: sun, surf, and a day at the beach.

01 Work Together: Collaboration isn’t just a buzzword—it’s the foundation of transformative design. When we truly work together, we create an environment where ideas can collide and combine in unexpected ways. This goes beyond simple delegation or coordination; it’s about creating a space where everyone feels invested in the out-come. We’ve seen time and again how bringing different perspectives into the room early—whether from the client, designer, or stakeholder—leads to solutions that none of us could have reached alone. It’s in these moments of genuine collaboration that we find the sweet spot between serving our clients’ needs and pushing creative boundaries.

02 Reason Over Ego: Design can be deeply personal—and should be—but our best work requires us eventually to separate our ego from our ideas. This doesn’t mean abandoning conviction or passion—quite the opposite. It means having the confidence to let our ideas evolve rather than coddle them. When we focus on reason, we create space for genuine dialogue about what serves the project best. We’ve learned that the strongest concepts emerge not from protecting our initial vision, but from being open to reshaping it through thoughtful discussion and critique.

The first section of our book Hybrid: Curiosity in All Things, is dedicated to inspiration, and one thing our Co-founder, is inspired by is collecting. We dig into some of Dora’s lifelong collections and the lessons they’ve taught her about creativity. From mid-century pottery and Japanese sculptures to vintage furniture and print ephemera, each object holds a story. These collections capture moments, materials, ideas and in Dora’s hands, collecting has always been a form of thinking—and the work is proof.
