It specializes in design of printed materials for such as packaging that are widely seen in Asian supermarkets. Its' signature design approach is incorporating trends from both Japan and America. Umesaki, the owner of Shinaworks, was influenced by her father who owned an architectural design company in Japan, and after moving to the United States, she focused her career ambitions on graphic design
. While studying design at a private school, she worked for seven years at Ad MOO Design LLC. in East Bay and other companies, later serving as the company’s head designer. She also majored in Marketing at San Francisco State University to cultivate a wider perspectives on business and customer needs, helping her provide greater service to customers after she created her own service, Shinaworks.
