We partnered with the Harley-Davidson brand team to tell the nuanced story of their new layered technical riding jackets, designed to work together as a system.

We helped develop the H-D® FL3X naming, messaging, and visual language including photographic style, illustrations, and tech icons. In addition to art directing the photography and video shoot, we designed the website landing page, product video, retail POS, and product hangtag system to complete this technical layering story.

When the never-ending parade of bad news cycles is weighing us down, we visit Reasons to be Cheerful, a site launched by former Talking Heads front man David Byrne. Since 2018 RTBC has provided a constant stream of examples of human ingenuity and innovation solving problems big and small, social and physical, all over the world. The solutions are meant to be both inspiring and replicated, to spread, and to help turn the tide on at least some of the challenges facing the modern world.

If a smart antidote to the daily news sounds refreshing - check it out. It turns out there are a lot of reasons to be hopeful - and cheerful!

Regardless of the era, candidate, or issue, whether it be Andy Warhol or an unknown artist from a bygone era, designers have consistently conveyed a sense of urgency regarding our responsibility to vote. Thomas Jefferson aptly colored the same subject with his words: "We do not have government by the majority. We have government by the majority who participate.” Let’s do this, people.

As we near the end of National Hispanic History Month, one of the many ways to appreciate the generations of Hispanic Americans who have positively influenced and enriched our national culture is to attend the Diego Rivera show now at SFMOMA San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

“Diego Rivera’s America” features over 150 of his amazing frescoes, paintings and drawings created between the 1920s and the mid-1940s, inspired by his travels in Mexico and the United States (including San Francisco). Viewing the expansive “Pan American Unity Mural” on the first floor alone is worth the trip and free for everyone to enjoy.

The first Earth Day was April 22, 1970. Do you you know what else began in 1970? Not coincidentally: The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC).

The NRDC combines the power of more than three million members and online activists with the expertise of some 700 scientists, lawyers, and policy advocates across the globe to ensure the rights of all people to the air, the water, and the wild.

Since we first heard about the NRDC on HBO’s “Last Week Tonight” (Thanks John Oliver!) we joined the NRDC’s "Council of 1000”, a group of a thousand members who commit to donating at least $1,000 per year, which we have been happily doing since 2016.
