Every year, I take the first-day-of-school photo. And every year, I find myself looking back at the ones that came before it. 💙

Same little boy. New year. New chapter. So much growth.

Watching Noah evolve over the years has been one of the greatest joys of my life. When I look back at his first days of school, I don’t just see him getting taller or looking more grown up. I see the confidence he’s gained, the independence he’s developing, and the personality that continues to shine brighter every year.

Motherhood has a funny way of making time feel incredibly slow and unbelievably fast at the same time. There were seasons when I was so focused on getting through the day, advocating, planning, worrying, and celebrating the small wins that I didn’t always realize just how much growth was happening right in front of me.

Then a new school year comes around, I compare the pictures, look back at our memories, and see the evolution. ❤️

My baby is growing up.

He’s becoming more independent, expressive, confident, and more distinctly Noah with every passing year. And while part of me would love to freeze time, an even bigger part of me is excited to watch him become the young man God created him to be.

Another first day. Another milestone. Another reminder to cherish every version of him along the way.

Here’s to a beautiful new school year, Noah. Mommy is so incredibly proud of you. 💙📚✨

Over the weekend, several members of the Loyola University Chicago (Loyola University Chicago) Black Alumni Board were honored to attend the Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley Institute’s celebration dinner commemorating the life, legacy, and enduring impact of Emmett Till.

More than 70 years after his tragic death, Emmett Till’s story continues to challenge our conscience and remind us that the pursuit of justice, equity, and human dignity is ongoing. Equally inspiring is the legacy of his mother, Mamie Till-Mobley, whose courage transformed unimaginable grief into a movement that helped shape the Civil Rights Movement and continues to inspire generations of changemakers.

This one hit close to home. My grandmother just turned 85 in July. Emmett Till’s 85th birthday was celebrated this same week. They were both 14 when he passed away. My grandmother still remembers how the whole world seemed to stop, how Black people and communities were outraged when his death happened. Hearing her talk about it made the dinner even more meaningful, a full circle moment, following a recent celebration of his life at the Obama Presidential Center (Obama Foundation).

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley Institute (The Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley Institute) for preserving this history and advancing its mission through education, awareness, and social justice. Their work ensures this legacy is not only remembered, but lived.

As the Loyola University Chicago Black Alumni Board, we’re proud to support that vision through the Mamie Till-Mobley Scholarship, an investment in future leaders who embody service, courage, academic excellence, and a commitment to a more just world.

As alumni, we have both the privilege and the responsibility to carry these stories forward and ensure their legacies continue to inspire hope, advocacy, and meaningful change.

Their legacy lives on, in our communities, in our students, and in the work we choose to do every day.

For the past several years, one of my prayers has been to find a church home here in California. ✨

Since moving here in 2021, I’ve missed having a local church community where I could worship in person, serve others, and continue growing in my faith. While Trinity United Church Christ will always be my church home in my hometown, Chicago, I knew God was preparing a place for me here as well.

Today, I’m incredibly grateful to share that after years of searching and praying, God led me to Center Of Praise Sacramento 🤍

This afternoon, I officially became a member and started my new journey in Christ. 🙏🏽

I’m thankful for this new chapter and look forward to growing in faith, building meaningful relationships, and serving alongside this wonderful church family. God is always faithful, and His timing is always perfect. 🤍

If your journey has looked anything like mine…moving to a new city and searching for a church home that truly feels like home, but you haven’t found the right place yet, my encouragement is simple: let God lead you. 🙏🏽

Don’t rush the process or settle because you’re eager to belong. Trust His timing. When He leads you to where you’re meant to be, you’ll know. It will feel peaceful, purposeful, and Spirit-led.

I’m so grateful that He led me here. 💙

Entrepreneurship has always been part of my story. I come from a family of entrepreneurs, so I saw firsthand what it meant to build something of your own and serve others through business.

Still, it took time to understand what entrepreneurship would look like for me—and longer to learn what it truly takes to build something both meaningful and profitable.
After college, I had big dreams but no clear path. I didn’t yet know how to turn my ideas and experience into a sustainable business with real strategy behind it.

A few years later, I was navigating single motherhood and learning to advocate for and raise a child with special needs, all while working multiple jobs. That season demanded a strength and resilience no textbook could teach.

There were times progress felt painfully slow, times I questioned whether I was capable or equipped for the vision God placed on my heart. But even without the full picture, I kept praying, working, and moving forward.
Faith taught me to trust God beyond what I could see.

Motherhood taught me to fight, adapt, and keep showing up in the hardest moments. Business taught me that vision alone isn’t enough—it takes discipline, strategy, courage, and a willingness to learn through every season.

Today, I’m a founder, Chief Marketing Officer, trusted growth advisor to AI and tech companies, board member, mentor, and Executive MBA candidate at USC. I help businesses and leaders clarify their vision, strengthen their brands, and build sustainable pathways for growth.

None of this happened overnight. It was built through late nights, hard lessons, quiet prayers, uncomfortable growth, and the choice to keep going when quitting would’ve been easier.

I’m still becoming. Still learning. Still trusting God with the next chapter.

Your beginning doesn’t determine your ending. Whatever season you’re in isn’t final—it’s a season, not the end of the story. Keep building. Keep believing. Keep going. ♥️

After a busy first year of grad school, Mexico was my first real chance to fully unplug in a long time. I gave myself space to slow down, be present, and take a break from constantly thinking about what needed to happen next.

I came back feeling recharged, grounded, and reminded that self-care isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity. We often celebrate productivity and pushing through, but rest is just as important. Taking time to care for yourself allows you to show up more fully for your goals, your work, and the people around you.

Sometimes the best thing you can do is step away for a moment so you can return with renewed energy, perspective, and purpose. Here’s to making space for both the hustle and the healing.

For those who are new here, allow me to reintroduce myself. ♥️

I’m Genesis A. Emery-Foley — Founder of Blueprint Haus Agency, Chief Marketing Officer, Executive MBA candidate at USC Marshall (), and a firm believer in the power of making transformational impact through the power of bold ideas.

Over the course of my career, I’ve had the privilege of helping early-stage and growth-stage startups transform vision into momentum through strategic marketing, brand development, communications, and growth strategy. From launching new ventures to scaling established brands, my passion has always been helping organizations unlock their next level of impact.

But beyond the boardrooms, pitch decks, and growth plans, I’m also a wife, a mother, a lifelong learner, and someone deeply committed to building a life and legacy rooted in purpose. 🙏🏽

Entrepreneurship has given me a front-row seat to innovation. It has challenged me to think bigger, lead differently, and continuously evolve. It has also shown me that some of the most meaningful work happens when strategy meets courage and vision meets ex*****on.

Today, I’m focused on building businesses, advising founders, pursuing excellence through my Executive MBA journey, and creating opportunities that drive growth—not only for myself, but for the people and organizations I serve.

I’m building boldly, leading intentionally, and creating at the intersection of business, innovation, faith, and impact. ✨

And this is only the beginning. 💐

I had the pleasure of attending this year’s Startup Grind Conference—an incredible gathering of founders, venture capitalists, and innovators at the center of Silicon Valley’s ecosystem.

Over two days, Startup Grind curated an immersive experience rooted in meaningful connections, bold ideas, and cross-industry innovation. From emerging startups to established tech leaders, the energy in the room reflected the future being built in real time and the many ways that we can support one another’s energy and growth!

I’m grateful for the opportunity to engage with visionary founders, connect with investors, and gain deeper insight into the companies shaping what’s next.

Thank you for hosting this fantastic event and bringing together community!

Before I ever called myself a Founder… I watched one get built at my grandmother’s kitchen table.

After working 24 years at the , my grandmother retired—but she had no interest in sitting still. So she partnered with my father and started a housekeeping business.

No funding. No playbook. Just a plan—and the willingness to execute.

I remember sitting at that kitchen table as they mapped everything out.

Then we went outside and brought it to life—knocking on doors, passing out flyers, introducing ourselves to neighbors, and advertising in the local newspaper.

And then it happened…The calls started coming in. Referrals took off. Demand grew faster than they could keep up with.

At the time, I didn’t have the words for it. Now, through my work as a Founder & CMO, and my Executive MBA at the USC Marshall School of Business—I understand exactly what I was witnessing: They didn’t build a cleaning business. They built inherent value people trusted enough to pay for.

Because what they were really offering was: reliability, consistency, an experience, and a peace of mind.

And they hit a moment every business eventually faces: Growth showed up… before the infrastructure did. That lesson feels very real for me right now.

As I continue scaling my agency and expanding into a new chapter, I’m experiencing that same tension:

More opportunities. More visibility. Higher demand.

But also…the responsibility to build systems, cross-functional teams, and a winning structure that can actually hold that growth.

Because growth isn’t the goal. Sustainable growth is.

That early experience that I witnessed from my Grandmother shaped how I lead today:

✨ Don’t just sell a service—build value
✨ Don’t chase growth—prepare for it
✨ Don’t scale chaos—build structure
✨ And never underestimate the power of trust

It’s funny how things work…I’m learning the frameworks now. But I’ve been studying the game my whole life.

And it all started at a kitchen table. An early-stage idea that grew into a profitable family-owned business that’s now celebrating its 24-year anniversary!

Being Noah’s mom has changed everything for me.

While I don’t often share the details of our day-to-day life, this journey has been both beautiful and incredibly challenging balancing life as a special needs mom, C-suite executive, full-time entrepreneur, and Executive MBA candidate.

There have been many long days and even longer nights. The kind people don’t always see like overnight bed wetting, sleepless nights, behavioral and sensory challenges, and yes… our occasional G-tube adventures. And we’re still navigating. Now, we’re entering new phases like growth and puberty, which brings its own set of complexities. It’s a lot.

I know my life may appear glamorous from the outside, but behind the scenes, it requires constant learning, deep patience, and unwavering advocacy at every stage of Noah’s life.

Still, I choose to show up with grace, gratitude, and prayer. I trust that things will continue to improve and that God will receive the glory.

I am deeply grateful for the village we’ve built here in California and for Noah’s incredible care team. Their support has made it possible for me to grow my business, travel to LA for grad school at USC, stay committed to my academics, and still create space for myself.

And I never forget what it took to do this as a single special needs mom. That strength lives in me—always.
Happy Autism Awareness Day 💙🧩

P.S. Biggest hugs to the fellow parents and care givers experiencing this journey. Your dedication, patience, and enduring love doesn’t go unnoticed. 🫶🏽

Lately, I’ve been reflecting on one of the most meaningful parts of entrepreneurship: the freedom to build a business that moves with your life.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been grateful to spend time in Jamaica, Monterey Bay, and Seacliff Beach while still supporting and servicing my clients. Being able to celebrate my birthday in the Caribbean while continuing to grow my business felt like a full-circle moment. I remember a time when I was tied to a desk in corporate offices, without much autonomy or flexibility in my schedule to balance motherhood and the demands of my life, while still trying to be successful.

Moments like this, and having the room to breathe, travel, reflect, and grow, serve as reminders of why I chose this path in the first place: creating work that allows me to collaborate, expand, and show up from anywhere in the world.

I’ve even been thinking about where I’ll spend the summer (after Theme 4 of grad school, of course), so I can find a place that supports working, creating, reflecting, and fully enjoying life in an environment that fuels my energy, complements my focus, and brings new perspectives.

Feeling thankful for the journey, the clients who trust me with their vision, and the opportunities that continue to unfold. ♥️💐🙏🏽
