When Wine Enthusiast names Sonoma's The Residence at Skipstone one of the dreamiest winery guest houses in the world, the details explain why.

Overlooking Alexander Valley and surrounded by 27 acres of organically and biodynamically farmed vines, the 8,000-square-foot Residence was sustainably crafted from estate stone and reclaimed wood — and once served as the private home of Skipstone’s owners.

Available for nightly, weekly, or monthly stays, the property invites guests to live like a vintner, complete with private chef access, farm-fresh provisions from the estate’s orchards and culinary gardens, and a 3,000-bottle cellar featuring rare, aged Bordeaux, cult California bottlings, and Skipstone’s own releases. Guests also enjoy priority access to SingleThread and Cyrus, along with partnerships with NetJets and Mayacama Golf Club.

Grateful to see Skipstone recognized exactly where it belongs.

Promote their press coverage.

Too often, wineries treat media coverage as the finish line when it should really be the beginning of the amplification strategy. When a great story hits, you already have the credibility and audience of the publication behind you — but social media allows you to extend that reach even further and target the exact consumers you want to reach.

Platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and X allow brands to promote posts directly to highly specific audiences based on location, income level, interests, and purchasing behavior — including regular wine drinkers and luxury consumers.

The wineries seeing the biggest return from PR today are the ones treating earned media and paid social as part of the same ecosystem.

We’ve needed some good news out of Napa recently!

CMC broke the Arborum acquisition exclusively with Wine Spectator yesterday, and by noon, Jess Lander at the San Francisco Chronicle had her own take. The Orums — Caren and Nick — have built something genuinely rare here. Land with roots going back to 1871, a vision rooted in stewardship and generosity, and an expanded commitment to Napa.

In 2026, digital is king — but I’ll always love a beautiful print feature.

Early in my career, I was almost entirely focused on print. But over the past five years, clients consistently tell me they see 15–20x more website traffic, mailing list sign-ups, and direct purchases from online stories than from print coverage featuring the exact same story.

The reason is simple: digital drives immediate action. A reader can click directly from a story to purchase wine, book a tasting, or join a mailing list in seconds. Print still carries prestige and emotional impact, but digital is where conversion happens.

Bella Oaks in Vogue! Proprietor Suzanne Deal Booth has reimagined a historic Napa estate into something genuinely rare: a place where world-class art, culture, and single-vineyard winemaking exist as one unified vision. Vogue's Ultimate Guide to Napa Valley recognized exactly that — featuring Bella Oaks under Art & Architecture. Cheers to Bella Oaks! 🥂 nickliest

Hi, I’m Charlotte Milan Delbridge—founder of C. Milan Communications.

I'm a mom/stepmom of three teens, devoted workout person (Barry’s Bootcamp regular), and happiest either outdoors in warm weather or cooking.

I started CMC in 2004 to do one thing well: place the wine industry’s most compelling people and estates exactly where they belong—at the top of the conversation.

For 20+ years, I’ve worked with wineries and visionaries shaping the future of wine. I’ve launched some of Napa’s most sought-after brands, including Bella Oaks and Dana Estates; guided iconic names like Williams Selyem and Trefethen Family Vineyards into their next chapter; and introduced wineries from emerging regions, from the Okanagan Valley to Virginia. I’ve also had the privilege of telling the stories of Napa Valley visionaries including Andy Beckstoffer, Philippe Melka, and Graeme MacDonald.

My work sits at the intersection of strategy and storytelling—helping clients earn meaningful, top-tier visibility.

I’ve lectured at Stanford Graduate School of Business and beyond, but I learned early on at Georgetown University (where I once thought I’d join the CIA) that I’m wired for strategy, creativity, and the art of persuasion.

Andy Beckstoffer is one client I will never try to media train. His personality, candor, honesty are exactly what brought this 3000-word story to life and to the cover of the New York Times' Sunday Business section. He's never been one to shy away from controversy, and this time's certainly no different.

I have long maintained and often opined that there are two individuals who have helped turned the Napa Valley into what it is today: Robert Mondavi and Andy Beckstoffer. After reading this, let me know if you agree.
