Pecan Pie Productions

Pecan Pie Productions As a leader in cinema advertising, our goal is to give locally owned businesses the opportunity to advertise on the big screen in their neighborhoods.

Here at Pecan Pie Productions our goal is really pretty simple: we want to give locally-owned businesses the same opportunity to reach people in their community as the big companies. And advertising at the movies is the only way! The audience is there, they can't turn the channel or fast forward on their DVR's and everyone's eyes are on that big screen. So if you're looking for a great opportunity

to brand your business and reach the members of your community for a fraction of the cost of TV or traditional advertising, then give us a call at 888.990.8777 or visit our website at pecanpieproductions.com. Our in-house creative team will design an effective, eye-catching ad, so your business is as memorable as the movies. That means the effort is minimal on your part to get started. It's that easy! If you have a tv commercial we can adapt that to our movie screens. All the ads are shown in high-definition! Are you ready to be a star?

The movie business just had its first billion-dollar month of May since 2019.
That's great news, but what I find even more interesting is who's helping drive it.

For years, we heard that YouTube and internet culture would be the death of cinema. Instead, we're witnessing a massive resurgence with young moviegoers and a new generation of digital creators showing a real reverence for the big screen.

A24's Backrooms, born from a viral YouTube series, saw 86% of its opening weekend audience come in under the age of 35.

Meanwhile, Obsession, made on a $750,000 budget by a 26-year-old director, has already generated $188 million domestically and counting.

Young audiences aren't abandoning the theatre. They're flocking to it.
A few months ago, we saw younger kids driving attendance for films made specifically for them. Now we're seeing young adults show up for content they've discovered on YouTube and TikTok that's been adapted for the big screen.

And just look at what happens when the industry provides them with movies made for them.

If you're trying to reach younger consumers, this is a trend worth paying attention to.

With a packed summer movie slate ahead, it's going to be fun to see what happens next.

Gen Z and millennials are driving a movie theater renaissance. "The Odyssey" is already breaking records a month before its release.

Summer 2026 is here, and what a start it’s been.

Traditionally, at least in recent years, the summer season has kicked off with a superhero movie. This year has bucked that trend, but the alternative has been pretty great.

Instead of a tentpole Marvel release, we’ve gotten a group of movies offering a little something for everyone. Michael has really been the breakout hit, with a record-breaking $97 million domestic opening weekend for a biopic. It’s continued to hold strong and has now become the highest grossing musical biopic domestically, surpassing Bohemian Rhapsody. I’ve even noticed Michael Jackson songs climbing back up the charts, which says a lot about the staying power of the film and maybe even the potential for a sequel.

And to kick off Summer 2026 in style, The Devil Wears Prada 2 hit theaters in a big way. Already crossing $550 million worldwide, the sequel has reminded everyone just how beloved the original film was and how fun it is spending time again with Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci.

Now with a big portion of 2026 already in the books, the health of the movie industry is looking really strong. The box office is currently running about 16% ahead of 2025, and summer is only getting started.

And what’s ahead looks stacked: The Mandalorian and Grogu launches the summer blockbuster run this weekend, followed by Scary Movie 6, Disclosure Day, Toy Story 5, Supergirl, Moana, The Odyssey, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

That’s a pretty incredible lineup, and there will probably be a few surprise hits along the way too.

The Michael Jackson film scored the top launch ever for a biopic domestically after passing up 'Oppenheimer,' as well as the best global opening for a music biopic, after overcoming the biggest divide between audiences and critics in recent memory.

Fresh off CinemaCon 2026, we’re back at Pecan Pie Productions energized by everything happening in the movie industry right now.

CinemaCon always delivers excitement, but this year felt different. The studios presented a polished view of what’s ahead, but more importantly, it aligned with what we’re seeing in the real world.

The momentum is real.

From the Dune preview to the continued strength of Super Mario, paired with the excitement around Avengers and the success of Project Hail Mary, the industry is finding its rhythm again.

And it’s happening at the right time. Summer 2026 is already here, with a strong slate ahead.

Beyond the box office, the audience trends are just as encouraging. Gen Z is showing up to theatres in a meaningful way, and PG rated films are seeing a resurgence, in many cases outperforming PG 13 releases.

For an industry often criticized for being slow to adapt, this feels like real movement.

The shift toward younger audiences is happening, and it’s bringing new energy into theatres.

We’re excited about what this means for theatre owners, advertisers, and the future of the big screen experience.
