It’s been one week since Roy Solorio officially traded in his key fob for a lifetime supply of Aloha shirts! 🌺

24 years at XYZ. We’d need 24 more to cover it all. While we already miss our human encyclopedia, Roy’s impact went far beyond the technical. As Sarah Mangione put it, “Teachers care, and Roy is no exception. He truly cares not only about the work, but even more so about the people.”

From being “Sassafras Numero Uno” and office DJ to having “wizard-like” production knowledge (and the occasional raccoon prank), Roy made XYZ feel like home. He’s been a mentor since the 90s, leading with humor, heart, and just the right amount of sarcasm.

Roy, thank you for the decades of mentorship and expertise, and for showing us that you can be professional while still having a sense of humor. The office hasn’t been the same since, but we know your next chapter as an author, musician, and full-time retiree is going to be a bestseller.

We love you, Roy! Happy Retirement! 🎉

Last month, we had the pleasure of heading down to the Graphic Communication & Packaging Career Fair at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and also welcoming the University of Kansas Marketing Club to our San Francisco studio!

Alexa Griffin & Reilly Yuen, both Cal Poly Graphic Communication (GrC) alumni, made the trip back to campus to connect with students from their program and share how the career fair led them to XYZ.

Back at our SF studio, we welcomed 16 KU Marketing Club students as part of their annual National Networking Trip, giving them a tour, an introduction to who we are and what we do, and a Q&A on the different career paths in the industry.

It’s always great to connect with the next generation of creative talent and introduce them to the world of creative production!
