So marketing isn't your favorite part of having a private practice? I get it -- it overwhelmed me & I avoided it for years.
Then I forced myself to shoot a marketing video and was amazed by how easy it was. My perspective shifted completely and I put my focus into video marketing.
I know, it sounds crazy. Wouldn't blogging or creating social media accounts be a better place to start?
Well, I did start with FB & Instagram posts when I was beginning to market my new private practice, but that lasted maybe a week. I couldn't muster up the energy to be any more consistent than that.
Then I did a video and it occurred to me -- this video can work in so many ways!
If you don't already know, video is one of THE BEST ways that you can market your practice.
Here are my top 5 reasons why you should use video to market your practice:
1. It's the best way to connect with a potential client -- video allows someone who may be interested in your services to have an experience of you. They can hear your voice and see your dynamic facial expressions. As therapists, we know how important those factors are in establishing connection & rapport.
2. It's by far the fastest growing way people are consuming content. Period.
3. When you make a video the content from that video can be recycled and used in many other places. For example, you make a 5 minute psychoed video. Get that transcribed (there are super cheap transcription services out there) and use the copy for a couple of blog posts and/or newsletters. Take pieces of those blog posts and use them as social media posts. And just like that you have all your content done for a month or even two!
4. Posting videos in multiple places on the internet can boost your SEO. When you post your video on your YouTube channel, FB Page, Instagram account, Pinterest, etc you can link it back to your website. When you piggy back on the backs of internet giants like the ones listed above, you are doing yourself a huge SEO favor.
5. It really is possible to make a marketing video and have it be just like having a conversation with a colleague. (OK, #5 is clearly my bias because it's the service I offer). It's true though -- you can take the agony out of making marketing videos AND have them work for you in all the ways I listed above!
What do you think? How do you feel about making a marketing video for your practice?
