Our founder, Joelle Cruz, lost his café in downtown San Jose 25 years ago and can still feel the pain of losing his passion business.

That is why we are here to help.

Jtown Pizza Co. is shuttering after six years in Japantown. The closure has sparked fears for other businesses in the neighborhood owned by the same family. It has also renewed debate over preservation in San Jose.

A Message to Our Staff & Community
It is with heavy hearts that we share this news: after nearly six years of serving the Japantown San Jose community, Jtown Pizza will be closing its doors indefinitely as of Thursday, September 4, 2025.

This decision was not made lightly. Despite our best efforts, ongoing financial hardships have made it impossible for Dipsomania, Inc. to continue Jtown Pizza's operations.

What will always remain, however, is our gratitude for the energy, care, and commitment that the Jtown Pizza crew brought to our team. Each member of our staff has been an essential part of Jtown Pizza's story, and the heart of our place in the community.

We know this is difficult news, and we want to express how deeply we appreciate everything that has been contributed - not only to Jtown Pizza, but to our guests and the wider Japantown community.

To our staff, thank you for your dedication and spirit. To our guests, thank you for choosing us to share meals, celebrations, and memories with. To the Japantown San Jose community: your support over these past six years has meant the world to us.

While Jtown Pizza's chapter is closing, we hope to continue
the friendships and connections we've built with you at our
remaining locations - Jack's, 7 Bamboo, and Spread.

With gratitude and respect,
Dipsomania, Inc.
