The New Jersey lighthouse challenge, his happening this weekend, October 17th and 18th!

This is an annual event that takes place every October during the 3rd full weekend of the month.

There are 11 lighthouse sites, 4 life saving stations and 1 museum as part of the challenge.

Here’s your itinerary for the perfect weekend getaway in Cape May, New Jersey!

🍁Fall is my favorite time of year to spend in Cape May! Everything is so festive, the weather is cool and crisp, farmers markets are decked out with pumpkins, mums and cornstalks. The summer crowds are gone, and it feels so quaint and cozy!

🏡I stayed at the most adorable boutique hotel, the Buttonwood | Cape May Hotel right in heart of downtown! Suite 7 was so spacious, clean and quiet. The communal sitting area, kitchen and sun room bistro made me feel right at home! The Buttonwood’s outdoor patio was perfect to enjoy a fresh espresso, and soak in the cool fall weather.

🔅We climbed the lighthouse, enjoyed the fall Friday markets at Rea's Farm, watched the sunset at sunset beach and had dinner at Fish House.

☕️The next morning i woke up and walked to Ｇｏｌｄｅｎ Ｓｔｏｐ for a pumpkin latte, which I sipped as I strolled over to Washington Street Mall. Had to walk around the iconic Congress Hall, Cape May, NJ and then over to Vintage Byob for their pancake charcuterie board for brunch!

After I was fueled up, I went on a rail cart peddle adventure with Revolution Rail and capped my day with dolphin watching, local drinks and a beautiful sunset on the Cape May Whale Watcher !

Did you know that Pennsylvania has a Vampire and Paranormal Museum!?

This is VAMPA, and you must add it to your fall bucket list of spooky places to visit! 🧛👻⚰️

This vampire and paranormal museum is home to the world’s largest collection of antique vampire slaying kits, haunted dolls and objects, religious relics, some dating back centuries!

The museum is on a 5 acre property, which also includes a dinosaur park, zen gardens and an antique shop!

📍Whitesbog Historic Farm & Village

New Jersey’s Historic cranberry farming village, located in the heart of the pine barrens, in Brendan T. Byrne State Forest with historic buildings, farmland, and miles of hiking trails to explore daily.

Back in the mid 1800s, James A. Fenwick purchased about 500 acres of land, what is now whitesbog village, to farm cranberries. After some time, cranberry farming in New Jersey began to take off. Fenwick’s son in law, Joseph White, took over the farm when Fenwick passed away, eventually acquiring more land adjacent to the farm and expanding production.

Elizabeth Coleman White, his eldest daughter, assisted him, beginning her career at Whitesbog in 1893. Elizabeth began growing blueberries in the land between the farm’s cranberry bogs. She eventually collaborate with USDA botanist Frederick Coville, to become the first to cultivate blueberry crops!

Her house and gardens are still located in the village, along with her originally 100+ year old blueberry plants.

Head to the Great Western Catskills this weekend for Delhi’s Maple Shade Hootenanny Festival!

The views in the Tetons are top tier, but one of my favorite parts about this park is that you can have a trail basically all to yourself.

We didn’t run into anyone on the way up until we reached the lake, and even then there were only 4 other people up there.

Of course getting an early start makes a huge difference, but I love that for as busy as the Tetons are, you can still find peace and solitude!
