Jones Printing Company is the oldest, continuously operating business in Sanford, NC (established in 1885 as Cole Printing, became Jones Printing in 1928). We have this old metal plate for letterpress printing of the Sanford Savings and Loan Association building. It was located downtown on Steele Street. That bank morphed into several other banks eventually.
Does anyone remember when it was Sanford Savings and Loan?

To the best of our knowledge, the photo above with the Cole Printing Company employees standing around the table was taken in 1903. Cole Printing became Jones Printing around 1930.
We still use that same table every day at Jones Printing for stacking jobs, etc. It is a great work table. Current photo was taken this morning.
The photo of the Cole Printing employees was also taken in 1903 to the best of our knowledge. Mr. Burgess Cole, owner, is on the center front row. Cole Street in downtown Sanford was named after Mr. Cole.

Congratulations to Renay Wulpern. After more than 25 years as a graphic artist with Jones Printing, she retired on February 28th. We have been blessed to have her with us - and she will continue to fill in from time to time. But for now, she and Rich are ready to do some traveling. Thank you Renay.
