Talk about a full-circle moment. Our Scouted Partner Barbara Edelston Peterson just made The Scout Guide National's roundup of Scouted books, and her book kvell: A Word You Should Know is all about this exact feeling.

Kvell is the Yiddish word for the joyful, outspoken pride you feel celebrating someone else's win. So yes, we are absolutely kvelling over Barbara right now.

A Santa Barbara author, psychologist, and champion triathlete, she quite literally wrote the book on lifting people up. Seeing her recognized coast to coast is a whole lot of fun for us.

Save this post. Free Summer Cinema presented by UCSB Arts & Lectures is back at the Courthouse Sunken Gardens. This year’s theme, Mixtapes & Misfits, is all the nostalgia. Friday nights, iconic films, warm summer air and free admission. It doesn’t get more Santa Barbara than this.

Easter weekend in Santa Barbara County 🐣🌿

Egg hunts at Elings Park (free, 20,000 eggs, absolute chaos in the best way). Easter celebrations at . Brunch with ocean views . The Great Easter Egg Hunt on the lawn . And in Los Olivos is doing brunch, live music, and an egg hunt with prizes that honestly make us want to show up without kids.

Help us decide the cover color of Volume 2!

For Volume 1, we walked around Santa Barbara with paint chips in hand, matching the exact green and off-white of our Spanish-style buildings. It took time, but we wanted the cover to feel like home before you even opened it.

Now we're in full swing of Volume 2 production, and we want to hear from you: what colors say "Santa Barbara" to you? The terracotta of a mesa sunset? Ocean blue on a clear day? The dusty sage of the foothills?

Easter weekend across Santa Barbara County 🐰

If you're planning celebrations this year, here's what our Scouted Partners and beloved community events have lined up:

is hosting their beloved oceanfront Easter Brunch on April 5th, complete with egg hunts, mural painting, and live caricature drawings for the kids.

has a full weekend of holiday activities, plus The Great Easter Egg Hunt on the Great Lawn on April 5th (multiple sessions by age group throughout the day).

in Los Olivos is going all out on April 5th with brunch, live music, egg decorating, and an egg hunt with prizes like spa treatments and a complimentary hotel stay (starting at 10am).

, the Montecito and Pasadena-based design studio led by Tamara Honey, has some exciting news. Nicole Robinson was just appointed Senior Designer at their Montecito studio.

The Channel Islands are 40 minutes from Santa Barbara Harbor. Most people have never been.
