Ever feel like it takes too long to get a fix for your website? Here are some tips for getting quick resolutions:

1) make sure to include the page and location on the page where you’re seeing the issue.
2) include what browser you’re seeing it on, and mobile or desktop.
3) use specific language for the problem like “the button is supposed to be blue” not “the button is the wrong color”.
4) avoid general language like “the page looks wonky” or “the page doesn’t work”.

These tips let the developer know EXACTLY 🎯what is wrong and where they can find and test for the problem. While not everything can be fixed quickly, this will give you the best resolution as quickly as possible.

“Dark Patterns” are designs that confuse users into opting to sell their information. Tricks like confusing language or multiple screens to opt out are, as of March 15, banned. Businesses have 30 days to change these practices, or risk punishment.

Websites should be for helping users and providing services users want. We’re happy to hear California is making it safer for users to navigate online! 👍🏼
