We are thrilled to announce that this summer, Vibrancy was hired by FWD.us, Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, and Sean Parker’s amazing nonprofit, to help develop a social campaign and web platform for their new initiative Welcome.us!
It was an absolute honor to be a part of this project. We have fallen in love with the nonprofit world, working on projects with real meaning behind them. Welcome.us is a new nonprofit focused on celebrating the immigrant tradition of the United States by establishing June as Immigrant Heritage Month. Our country’s culture is deeply rooted in these traditions, but unfortunately our laws and holidays do not reflect that. It’s FWD.us’ mission to change that.
To spark the movement in June, we developed a campaign where users created custom profile and cover photos based upon the year they, or their family first felt welcomed in the United States, and then allowed them to easily share them on social media. With the help of Facebook engineers, we made it possible for users to make the photo their Facebook profile photo directly from the website. We also created the web/mobile platform for the nonprofit, showcasing the vision and people behind the organization.
The campaign was a great success and garnered the support of countless actors, musicians, tech icons, politicians, and business leaders, from Russell Simmons and Jared Leto to Mayor Garcetti and Steve Chen. It was an incredible experience working on this project. If you have chance, check it out at www.welcome.us! We want to thank everyone for the continued support, as well as, our team for doing such a great job on this project! Cheers!
