We were born when a couple of cronies, Aaron Lyles and Jon Smedley, decided to turn their passion for photography into a full-service digital photography studio. With over 15 years of industry experience, Lyles and Smedley have created a portfolio of work that ranges from commercial and architectural photography to environmental, product, fashion photography and more. They bring the same level of craftsmanship to every job, but offer two very unique perspectives. Smedley’s discerning eye and strong technical skill come through in his shots, as does his affection and expertise for striking environmental portraiture. Lyles possesses the rare ability to capture the energy and emotion of his subject—whether freezing in time the dynamism of a pair of Sri Lanken monkeys, or bringing life to an inanimate hotel bed. Despite their different photography styles, there’s one thing they see eye-to-eye on: four eyes is better than two, and their combined vision for great photography is what makes Pixel Lab such a successful venture. Pixel Lab is based out of Manhattan’s Upper West Side, but we’ll happily bring our studio to you.

It takes a village.

But building a village from the ground up with insanely talented and KIND people is something much different.

How you approach your business should align with how you live your life. I’m incredibly proud of the orbit we’ve built and the people that fill it. I’m proud that I don’t need to work with hobgoblins and ego-maniacs. I’m honored to learn more every day while lending my own talent to projects that move the needle. And for all the many people who make it all happen… I care that you care. And when you do, your work shines.

For decades now, we have been lucky to stay in this zone; to laugh on every set, smile with each new friendship and toast to every client who achieves their goals alongside us. From crew to client and everyone in between (looking at you catering, crafty, studio managers, Uber drivers and all the others who help these projects take flight!) one thing remains constant: it truly matters WHO you work with.

This week was no different. You may see a “product,” but at multiple mammals, we see people dedicated to making their product/service/brand do good in the world. Thank you Meati for our continued partnership and thanks to the entire crew for making it happen!

Super excited to announce the launch of our client, to the world.

This project was the poster-child for what it means to be selective in whom you choose to work with and what you choose to work on. There wasn’t a day that went by that we weren’t stoked and inspired to be alongside the entire Meati Foods team. And it goes without saying that  is a f #%*n rockstar!

It seems obvious, but it still needs to be said; good people ALWAYS end up making  . We're sticklers for the no a$$holes policy. We live by it. We defend it at all costs and we expect it out of everyone we get in the trenches with. The results are not just incredible content, but genuine relationships. We build tasty media treats, but we cherish the friendships most. I mean that. Call that whatever you want, but the fruit of our labor speaks volumes.

NO WAY I'm doing any of this without  Helen Beresford, .feuerman and every last family member who dives into Multiple Mammals from their own media kingdoms. Everyone brought their A+++ game to this project. I'm constantly in awe of how oiled this machine is and I'd be a rat's tail away from the gutter without each of them.

Here's to many more amazing projects!!

ps. Shout to .gerus for bringing us into the new future of food for being a culinary force and  for starting me and down this path in the first place many moons ago. 🙌
