Our CEO Candice Brown-McElyea started her career in TV news. After graduating from the University of Florida College of Journalism, she worked in New York, Maryland and Florida. While working for SNN6 in 2001, she reported on the September 11 attacks from Emma E Booker Elementary School where President George W Bush was when he first learned about the tragic events of the day. Coming up over the next few weeks leading up to the 25th anniversary, ABC7 will run a series about Sarasota’s many eerie connections to the terrorist attacks, including a panel interview with many reporters who were there that day.
