The Winter Slump Cycle ❄️👇
I call this the 2-year cycle because I see it happen to moving companies over and over again.
Year one, you’re crushing it. Maybe you’re doing $20k–30k+ months all summer long. Business is flowing, the phone won’t stop ringing, and it feels like you’ve finally figured it out.
The problem? You start believing the momentum will last forever.
Instead of building 1–2 predictable lead sources (LSAs, Google Search, or Facebook demand generation), you rely almost entirely on referrals and organic growth.
Then winter shows up.
The calls slow down, the pipeline dries up, and suddenly the business gets stress-tested. If you’ve hired too fast, bought equipment, or over-leveraged based on summer revenue, things get uncomfortable in a hurry.
Most owners don’t fix it the first time because they think next summer will solve everything.
And it does…
Until the following winter.
That’s why I call it the 2-year cycle. It usually takes living through at least two winters before you realize you need systems that create demand year-round—not just when people happen to be looking for you.
Build predictable lead generation while business is good.
Future you will be thankful when January rolls around. 💪
