Throwback to The Addys - 20 years ago!

It’s devastating to share that the creative world lost the most wildly, creative and talented human I have ever worked with. Josh Barrett was one of the first industry mentors I had. He and Riley Easton had to deal with me as a budding graphic design intern. Years later Josh served as the creative director at Clark Creative. His concepts were limitless. Abilities untethered. He’d work all night, bike for hours to clear his head (once calling me to tell me he was going to be late from his lunch break as he was trying to figure out where he needed to patch the hole in his bike tire - looking for the hole in a toilet at Waffle House!), and produced the most amazing work (like this illustration for Ghost Coast Distillery).

He leaves behind 3 amazing kids he talked about endlessly and all those roads untraveled.

Keep on riding, Josh. We will miss your “spooky suit”.

For anyone who is active with a non-profit or knows a worthy one that needs VOLUNTEER hours and support!

Metropolitan Savannah Rotary (MSR) intends to support, both financially and through volunteer support, organizations that make Savannah a better, stronger, more livable community. The chosen organization will preferably have a mission that allows for projects with a tangible impact that will provide lasting results for years to come. Funds should be directed toward a specific program, articulated through our application process. Applicants should seek to incorporate our members’ volunteer time into their application.

Metropolitan Savannah Rotary will partner with one organization for one year (beginning July 1, 2023) providing volunteer support once a quarter and financial support. The grant recipient will be awarded up to $10,000 based on the success of Metropolitan Savannah Rotary events throughout the year. It is very important to MSR that there be opportunities for hands-on service projects quarterly. Recipients must be a 501(c)(3) organization.
Applications must be submitted in a Google Survey no later than April 11, 2023.

Good morning from ! I’m honored to have been invited as an alum 🐝 to serve as a Professional Mentor for the Winter quarter for a Design for Good course working with Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore. As we prepare for the final client presentation next week, I’m reflecting on this fun and inspiring experience. The class is dedicated and ambitious and of course they each have talent beyond measure - even as students still learning in this amazing environment. What an opportunity they hold in their portfolios to share this real life client interaction. The true experiences illustrate team work to make ideas come to fruition. Their progress is impressive.

Cool BONUS FACT: Patrick worked on the renovation and design of this building I’ve been in for the past 9 weeks.
