“There are monumental-occurrences, throughout my tenure as a mentor and community-activist, but there are a bracket of irrefutable monumental-occurrences that are coupled together and supersedes the other occurrences.
My mentorship efforts, with Angelo Davis, began in District 2. Davis became my mentee in 1996; where I was his football coach at the Frank Callen Boys and Girls Club. I was allotted the opportunity to, not only, discover his athletic-talents, but I concluded that he was an academic-genius. An honor student/graduate, during his high school and post-secondary (undergraduate) educational matriculation, Davis is a 28 year-old graduate student at Savannah State University. This mentee concluded his second semester of graduate school with a 4.0 GPA, maintains an active mentor-to-mentee relationship, and has resided in District 2 for 28 years.
Accolades, such as Davis’, is why I am passionate about continuing my pursuit of serving as a youth-yarer in District 2.
June 9, 2020, Elect Michael J. Hamilton, Sr. for Chatham County’s District 2 Commissioner.”
