🧱 🔨 Project Showcase: AAGG Breaking Through Brickwalls - Tabling Resources & Web Page Resource for Members

Earlier this year, I was thrilled to work with the Mentor Committee at the African American Genealogy Group to create a valuable resource for people who are stuck with a genealogy brickwalls. This free guide for members and non-members, will be available both in print and as a digital format.

This free guide from the African American Genealogy Group provides step-by-step instructions and tips to help genealogists and family history researchers overcome common research challenges and the dreaded brickwalls. It acts as a companion piece to their Member Manual which is offered with a paid membership.

The online part of this project consisted of a web page that AAGG members can use to go step by step through their research to make sure they have looked under every stone to break through their brick wall. The page includes links to downloadable worksheets and resources plus a form to contact the Mentor Committee to submit a request for help.

Looking to create engaging and informative materials for your membership and visitors at your tabling event? Let's work together!

This is one of the first web projects I completed at the start of my entrepreneurial journey as a web designer. I will forever be grateful to the African American Genealogy Group of Philadelphia for the trust and support for the opportunity to work on this project.

The website, built with WordPress, features a public-facing side for visitors to learn more about AAGG and genealogy research. A separate area was developed for the organizations paid members which gives them access to surname directory, videos and other content.

To learn more about genealogy and how to research your ancestors, visit AAGG at aagg.org.

Be sure to visit formandfacet.com and check out the full case study on this project.

I accidentally revitalized my design business prior to COVID lockdown so I was positioned to accept this new path the Universe opened up to me.

I feel blessed to have this opportunity and grateful that I have met so many amazing passionate entrepreneurs, creators, and lots of genealogists!

My design business and potential for opportunity changed when these two seemingly disparate areas of my life combined unexpectedly.

Very soon FORM+FACET will become GOOD+RARE Design. This newest incarnation will focus on providing web and design services for niche organizations and service providers related to genealogy, and genealogical-related organizations.

Look for it. It's coming.
