This week Puget Systems returns to NAB NY at the Javitz Center in Manhattan , bringing some compelling demos and a whole lot of wisdom and expertise to the show floor. And this is what I like about these guys. They’ve become the ‘tech whisperers’ of high-end VFX, virtual production, post production and many other sectors. And they do this, not by showing up to flex the latest/fastest/largest/most cores/most speeds-and-feeds, but by bringing their hard-earned wisdom and insights to every interaction they have with the community....

AI for the creative space is hurtling through its natural spin cycles, and while the hype from the vendors seems to be calming down, the backlash from the creators themselves is bubbling up. Options. Choices. Flexibility. Just...remove the hassle so I can get to work and start creating! Those are sentiments that are hard to argue for anyone who invests in the tools they need to create their art, and to make their living. Don't make things more difficult, confusing, frustrating or worse, aggravating! So I always applaud software companies who take the time to really focus on that customer experience, and invest their resources to making life easier for their customers....

NAB 2024 was a big success for LumaTouch as well. While not their first NAB, it was their first time exhibiting in the new Creator Lab in the South Hall. I mentioned this last time, but it’s worth mentioning again. The Creator Lab is the brainchild of VidCon veteran, Jim Louderback, who had the foresight to recognize that this burgeoning market now known as “The Creator Community,” or “The Creator Economy,” truly represents a new generation of professional filmmakers, videographers, cinematographers, VFX artists, video editors and production pros....
