What has been evident to me is that what you produce for us, that is how the story is told to the public about who we are.

I never had any sort of vessel that did that before.

You have your online presence, you have your direct mail marketing, you have your reviews, and people are going to make up whatever narrative they're going to make up.

But here, this is who we are.

It's not an avatar. It's not little characters. It's real people.

You shared with me the other day that one of my guys at Beaverton had someone recognize him. That guy's check engine light is going to come on someday, and he's going to be like, "Oh, not only do I know them from social media, I know the guy."

And the guy isn't me.

That's what I want.

Guys can do whatever they want. Some guys like this kind of stuff, some don't. It doesn't matter.

I'm building a business, but my business is built for the growth and opportunity of all the people who come and join our team.

That's what the business is for.

Great marketing shouldn’t feel cookie-cutter.

Every business is different. Every market is different. Every customer has a different problem they’re trying to solve.

That means your marketing has to adjust.

At Storyline Marketing, we don’t walk into a shop with the same scripts, the same content, and the same strategy we used for the last client.

We listen.

We understand the business, the people, the customers, and the local market. Then we build the story around what makes that shop different.

Because real storytelling takes patience.

It takes empathy.

And it takes understanding the business well enough to communicate why customers should trust it.

That’s why people want Storyline in the building.

Not to create another cookie-cutter campaign, but to tell the story that already exists.

Growth starts when you’re willing to admit you might be wrong.

Rick Kersey, owner of Accurate Auto and a Storyline Marketing client, shared a lesson that applies to every business owner:

You have to get humble enough to recognize when something isn’t working.

Even after years of experience, Rick found himself trying marketing strategies he once would have dismissed completely.

Then they worked.

That realization changed the perspective from “I know what works” to “What else don’t I know?”

The more you learn, the more you realize how much there is left to understand.

That’s what keeps great business owners growing.

Stay curious. Stay willing to experiment. And never let experience convince you that you already have all the answers.

The goal of leadership isn’t to make your team depend on you.

It’s to build a team that can solve problems without you.

Rick Kersey, owner of Accurate Auto and a Storyline Marketing client, runs shops in Oregon while living in Southern California.

His team doesn’t need him standing at the counter or answering every question.

They need him creating opportunities, bringing customers through the door, and giving the right people room to rise.

Rick learned that lesson early in his career when someone saw potential in him and gave him an opportunity before he was fully ready.

Now he does the same for his people.

Give people responsibility.
Let them solve problems.
Give them opportunities to rise.

And when the culture isn’t working, have the leadership to address it.

Because a great business isn’t one where the owner solves every problem.

It’s one where the owner has built a team capable of solving them.

One year of aligning a great business with the story its local market needed to see.

Over the past 12 months, and Storyline Marketing have built more than a social media presence. We built visibility, familiarity, and trust.

3.1M+ video views.
922 leads generated.
17,862 people taking a closer look.

But the numbers only tell part of the story.

The real win is putting Yuba City Autoworks in front of local people consistently, so when they need automotive repair, they're not choosing a stranger. They're choosing a shop they already recognize and trust.

Thank you to and the entire Yuba City Autoworks team for trusting Storyline Marketing with your story.

One year of trust.
One year of growth.
And we're just getting started.

Sometimes the biggest thing holding your business back is the thing you can’t see yourself.

Fernando, owner of The Car Clinic of Miami and a Storyline Marketing client, shared his perspective on one of the greatest values of coaching: having someone outside of your business who can see your blind spots.

As he puts it:

“The eye sees everything except itself.”

A great coach can identify the problem, but that doesn’t mean accepting the answer is always easy.

Fernando admits there were things his coach told him for years that he resisted. He changed other parts of the business, searched for different solutions, and tried to avoid making the decision he already knew needed to be made.

Nothing changed.

Until he did.

Once he pushed through that internal resistance and took action, everything started to shift.

That’s the value of coaching—but it also requires something from the person being coached.

You have to be open enough to hear the criticism, honest enough to recognize your blind spots, and willing enough to act on what you learn.

We’re proud to work with business owners like Fernando and The Car Clinic of Miami who continue investing in themselves as much as they invest in their businesses.

Great customer service starts when you stop focusing only on the car and start focusing on the person behind it.

Craig Perry, owner of **RM Auto Care** and a Storyline Marketing client, shared the standard he teaches his team:

When a customer says, “I need my car back tomorrow,” the real question is **why?**

Maybe they need to get to work.
Maybe they have a family emergency.
Maybe someone is depending on them.

Understanding what’s happening behind the repair allows the team to solve more than a mechanical problem—it allows them to take care of the person.

The same applies when something goes wrong.

Instead of immediately defending the repair, the timeline, or the shop, understand why the customer is frustrated and what you can do to make the situation right.

That’s how Craig approaches customer service at RM Auto Care.

**Focus on the person, not just the vehicle.**

We’re proud to work with shop owners like Craig who understand that becoming the obvious choice in your market starts with how you treat the people who already chose you.
