And before anyone comes for me - yes, social media matters. I love a good Reel! Consistent content builds trust, and Instagram is a genuinely powerful tool for nurturing the audience you already have. But if your goal is to get in front of brand new audiences, social media can only take you so far.

Because the editors, podcast hosts, producers, and event organizers who could actually change the trajectory of your business?

They're not sitting around waiting for your content to pop up in their feed. They're looking for stories. The ones that are timely, relevant, and genuinely useful to their audience.

Stop asking "how do I promote my business?" and start asking "why would anyone actually care about this story?"

I know that sounds too simple. But this one change can completely transform the way you pitch your brand. Because journalists are not looking for advertisements. They're looking for stories. The ones that are timely, useful, and that their audience will actually want to read, watch, and share.

So before you send your next pitch, run it through this lens. What problem does this solve? What trend does it connect to? Why is this relevant right now and not six months ago? Why would someone stop scrolling for this? If you can answer those questions clearly, you have a pitch worth sending. If you can't, that's where to start.

But hereโ€™s what I need more founders to understand: posting on social media and building media visibility are two completely different things.

If I were building my brand from scratch in 2026, here's the PR strategy I'd use, and honestly, it's the same one I'd recommend to anyone starting today.

I'd focus on becoming known for one clear thing. Not trying to be everywhere. Not talking to everyone. Not chasing every trend that pops up. Just getting crystal clear on what I want to be known for, who I want to reach, and why my story matters right now.

Because once that foundation is solid, everything else gets easier. Your content gets stronger. Your pitches get clearer. Your interviews become more compelling. And people actually start remembering you.

I know it's tempting to think PR is all about media lists and the perfect introduction email. Those things matter, but they're not where the real work starts. The brands and personal brands that get the most traction are the ones people can describe in a single sentence!

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ If your audience can instantly articulate what makes you different, you're on the right track. And if they can't? That's exactly where I'd start.

The most qualified women in the room are often the least visible ones. And I know someone reading this needed to hear that today ๐Ÿงก

Being brilliant at what you do does not automatically make you well-known. I've worked with some of the smartest, most accomplished women you could ever meet! The founders, CEOs, and experts with decades of experience and results that genuinely speak for themselves.

And so many of them quietly wonder why they're still being overlooked. Why do the opportunities seem to go to people with less experience? Why they're still the best-kept secret in their industry.

If that thought has crossed your mind, you are not alone. And more importantly, it is not a reflection of your worth.

Here's what I know after LOTS of years in this industry: visibility is not about being the loudest person in the room. It's about making sure the right people understand your value.
