Hi Bay City! I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself.

My name is Julie Bustamante, and I’m the owner of Design Scottsdale, an advertising and marketing business serving clients from Hawaii to Arizona — and right here at home in Bay City, Texas.

I have lived in Bay City for over 10 years, and one of my greatest joys has been using my experience in design, advertising, branding, and social media marketing to help shine a light on this community.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of being part of a lot of the rebranding and visual marketing you see throughout our local community — from logos and marketing materials to advertisements, billboards, social media campaigns, event marketing and tourism promotions.

One of my biggest clients is the City of Bay City Tourism Visit Bay City TX, where I work as a contractor creating social media content, billboards, advertisements, marketing pieces, and campaigns that encourage people to visit our town, spend time here, support our shops, eat at our restaurants, and experience what makes Bay City special.

I truly believe in this town. I believe in our local business owners. I believe they are the heart of Bay City, along with the people who make up this community.

From concept to print, every detail matters. ✨
I recently created this brochure for a City rental facility, with the goal of making the piece feel warm, historic, professional, and easy to use.
The color palette was intentionally chosen to complement the character of the building, using rich charcoal tones, warm neutrals, and soft earthy accents to create a polished look that still feels inviting. The design balances beautiful photography, clear rental information, and a layout that helps people quickly understand the space, features, and possibilities for their event.
A strong print piece is not just about the design on screen. It also requires preparing the files correctly, checking details carefully, and working with the printer to make sure the final product is ready for my client with the right finish, folds, color quality, and professional presentation.
That is the value of working with an experienced designer. I do not just create something pretty. I help guide the project from the first idea all the way to the final printed piece. 🖤

🦩 Quiet the Noise. Trade Busy for Beauty.

When designing this billboard for Bay City Tourism, I chose this image of a flamingo taking a peaceful nap because it says everything without saying too much.

Bay City is the kind of place where you can step away from the noise of everyday life and find something quieter. Here, you will find nature, open skies, coastal beauty, wildlife, and peaceful moments that remind you to slow down and breathe.

The flamingo felt like the perfect visual for that message. Calm. Still. Beautiful. Resting in its natural surroundings.

This billboard is currently displayed near a main highway in Wharton County, inviting travelers to trade busy for beauty and discover the quieter side of Texas.

Elevating the Digital Presence of 1618 Labs

I’m excited to share a recent web design and branding project for 1618 Labs, a private label skincare manufacturer helping brands bring custom beauty and skincare products to market.

For this project, I created the logo branding and designed the website with a clean, elevated, laboratory inspired look that feels modern, feminine, and professional. The goal was to position 1618 Labs as a polished and trustworthy partner for skincare entrepreneurs, beauty brands, and businesses ready to launch private label products.

The branding uses a refined serif style, soft pink accents, and a sophisticated gray palette to create a balance of luxury, science, and beauty. The website was designed to be simple to navigate while clearly communicating their services, product focus, and brand credibility.
