Not only should we recognize black artists during Black History Month, but we should celebrate them each and every month. This year, I chose to highlight 4 famous black artists that have made a huge contribution to the art community.

I hope that we can continue to uplift, celebrate, and recognize the creative talent that exists within the black community. Artists tend to be ignored and undervalued for their work and it's time that we change the narrative to truly understand the impact that they make in our history βœŠπŸΎπŸ€ŽπŸ–€

Have you ever been frustrated trying to figure out how to implement consistent branding everywhere? I've been there. I remember I felt this same frustration before I rebranded. There were two reasons why I couldn't figure it out:

1. I had no brand strategy, I didn't understand the importance of having one ❌
2. My visual identity was weak, people could hardly recognize who I was, I looked just like everyone else ❌

Once I put together a solid brand strategy and created a strong visual identity, it became easier to implement consistent branding everywhere βœ…

In this carousel, I discuss how the importance of having both a solid strategy and a strong visual identity to build a memorable and recognizable brand.

If you read this and realized you are missing these two things, DM the word "Discovery" to find out how I can help you get started on building a memorable and recognizable brand ✨

Did you know that when creating a new brand identity you should have 3 logo variations?

This may come as a surprise to you, but if you take a look at large organizations, you will find that they all have 3 logo variations, a primary logo, a secondary logo, and a submark.

Now, why is it important that we have logo variations? Well, depending on the amount of space that's available and the format needed, it's good to have variations to choose from. It's important that each variation is still recognizable and consistent with your brand identity.

What's the difference between each of them? Here's a brief explanation:

1. The primary logo is the main logo that represents your brand and is used most often. It typically includes the full business name.

2. The secondary logo is the main logo rearranged in a different fashion and is used if the main logo isn't fit to be presented.

3. The submark is a simplified, condensed version of your main logo and is used when you are working with a smaller space.

Did you know that your brand can gain superfans that'll tell everyone about you? In other words, they believe in your brand so much that they will aggressively promote it to others, in hopes of convincing others to purchase from you.

You probably already have superfans and didn't even realize it! These are the ones that typically make the biggest purchases, are extremely enthusiastic about your brand, and are constantly sharing it to others.

Let's take a real-life example, Apple products. If you own an iPhone, chances are you probably own an iPad, Airpods, Macbook, the list goes on...and you probably have convinced many others that Apple products are the best and if they aren't then they aren't "cool" enough to fit into your social circle (okay maybe that's slightly dramatic, but you get the point). Apple has done a great job at gaining superfans that'll tell everyone about them.

So how can you gain superfans if you don't have any? To sum it up in a general sense, you want to:

1) Make the best product you can possibly make
2) Serve your customers the best you can
3) Produce content that your audience can connect with

Remember to focus on doing good business and building long-lasting connections so that you can create superfans that'll tell everyone about you!

It can be frustrating not knowing how to stand out in your industry, especially being a new business owner.

But don't worry, you already have something that's unique about your brand that makes it special, which is your brand's story ✨

Your brand's story are the facts and feelings that are created by your brand which inspires an emotional reaction.

It's so important that you are constantly using your story to connect with your audience. You never know what they may find in your story that helps you stand out versus others products/services they are considering.

Comment down below what ways are you using your brand's story to connect with your audience πŸ‘‡πŸΎ

Are you curious about how to best serve your audience with your brand? When you're creating your brand, I want you to consider these 3 questions:

1) What do you love to do? Think about choosing something you are most passionate about. A lot of people will tend to choose something that'll make them money the quickest, but in reality, if you're looking to build a long-lasting brand, you want to ensure you choose something that makes you excited to get up every morning.

2) Why do you love to do it? This question is so important to ask yourself because this will help craft your brand's purpose. Your audience wants to know the true purpose of your brand. When you answer this question, go beyond the surface level reason, think about the deeper meaning behind your passion.

3) Who are your people? Once you've answered what you're passionate about and why you're passionate about it, it's time to address who you're serving. Your brand is created to solve a problem for a certain set of people. Get specific about who they are, think about their demographics and psychographics. This will help you craft your brand messaging.

Double-tap this post if this has helped gain clarity on how to best serve your audience! 🀎

*Gasp* You got a inquiry from a potential client and they are reluctant on parting with their money (i.e. they're cheap!)

What if I told you that there are several ways you can go about dealing with this type of customer? πŸ€”

First, let me say this, you have to reframe what you think of when you use the word "cheap" and instead, see that these types of customers actually experience more "buying pain" than other types of customers.

So, how can we tackle this successfully without wasting everyone's time?

1) Emphasize the value you provide in your services

2) Bundle your services to reduce recurring pain points

and finally...

3) Understand that sometimes they're not the client for you and that's okay

It's perfectly fine to set boundaries in your business especially when it comes to the type of clients you want to deal with. So when it comes to cheap customers, you have to pick and choose which battles are worth fighting for.

Have you dealt with a cheap customer before? How did you go about it? Let me know in the comments below πŸ‘‡πŸΎ

Creating your own website is a great way to save money when starting a new business! However, at a certain point, you may find that your website isn't helping your business, instead, it's hurting your business.

Here are 4 tell-tale signs that it's time to hire a professional website designer:

1) Your website doesn't reflect the growth you've had in your business. Overtime, as your business evolves, your website needs to evolve with it as well. If you are struggling with having your website accurately reflect the growth you've experienced, it may be time to hire a designer.

2) You're getting a bunch of inquiries through the DMs asking the same questions! This can be extremely annoying and time consuming as a business owner. You may need to take a look at your current design and see if your website is clearly addressing the most frequently asked questions your audience is asking.

3) You're getting tons of visitors but no one's booking your services. Your website should be selling your services for you and if it's not doing that..well then it's time to hire a designer.

4) You don't have enough time to make changes to your website. As a business owner, there are so many other matters that you have to focus on and if you catch yourself not having enough time to make updates to your website, then I strongly recommend hiring a designer.

You may be struggling with attracting the right clients to your business. It's easy to just accept anyone and everyone as your client, but in the long run, some of those clients can give you major headaches and unnecessary stress in your business 😫

So today I wanted to share with you some tips that'll help you begin attracting the right clients to your business.

1) Pick a niche: This is soo important and is the first step to getting more of your ideal clients working with you. Whether that's wedding photography, maternity, or branding, pick one and stick with it. More importantly, make sure it's something you enjoy doing.

2) Only showcase your niche in your portfolio: Yes, I said it, just showcase that one. Choosing to only showcase your niche in your portfolio makes it clear to those that are interested in your services that this is what you do and enjoy doing the most.

3) Ensure your brand/website is designed to attract your target audience: I cannot stress this point ENOUGH. You have to be clear on who you're serving and ensuring that your brand/website is a reflection of that is πŸ”‘

4) Create valuable content based on your target audience: Content creation is a great way to attract new leads to your business. Make sure that you conduct market research first so you can discover your audience's pain points and make content based on your discoveries.
