Behind the scenes at our Whittier Heights Backyard Cottage! 👀 We're replacing an old detached garage with a brand new DADU and this one is all about bringing the outside in. A 15-foot steel-framed opening for a folding patio door, clerestory windows, and three skylights will flood this space with natural light year-round. The goal? A versatile gathering space where the owners can host friends, family, and kids' parties no matter the season. Stay tuned for the project reveal!

The notes tell the whole story. ✍️ Every mark represents a conversation: an adjustment, a question, or a refinement. This is what thoughtful design looks like behind the scenes, long before construction ever begins. The details that make a remodel feel right aren't happy accidents. They're the result of a process that takes the time to get it right.

Before & After: the Morningside Whole House Remodel & Addition! 🏡 This 675 sq ft Cape Cod cottage is now a full-sized forever home and the details behind the transformation are as impressive as the results.

From pouring the garage and covered patio slabs, to precision floor leveling that eliminated any transition between the old living room and new addition, to Simpson Strong-Tie Simpson StrongWall hardware at the garage corner to support the largest possible glass and steel garage door opening... every decision was made with intention. No shortcuts, no compromises, just the kind of detail-oriented craftsmanship that makes the finished product feel seamless. Swipe to see the transformation!

Behind the scenes at our Green Lake Whole House Project! 👀 We're gutting this 1910 home from top to bottom and bringing it to present day. We were able to preserve the existing porch roof rather than tear it out, saving our clients money while we built a brand new basement entrance and deck around it. Smart solutions like this are what we live for.

Say hello to Kennadie! As CRD's Business Operations & Marketing Manager, Kennadie's connection to this industry runs deep. The daughter of CRD's founders, she grew up watching her parents' passion for remodeling transform homes and lives and that love carried her all the way through an MBA from the University of Washington. "I enjoy seeing the before and after photos of a space and seeing the happiness from the homeowners." It's personal for her, and it shows.

We're so grateful to have Kennadie carrying on the CRD legacy!
