Flashback to this classic late 90's glitch animation for MadTV...

We've been fortunate in the kinds of projects we've been involved in and the people we get to work with over the years. Much of our work has enjoyed a national audience, some even global in reach. But the fact remains, our greatest reward comes from doing great work for our clients. However, we do indeed find humble pleasure in seeing this piece we did over 20 years ago with Marc Karzen posted on youtube by some random person with too much time on their hands.

Sorry for boring you with all the archival work, but I'm writing a book, the old stuff is part of it...we're Almost Finished. gutsandglorycreative.com

We've been busy doing work with the awesome folks at High Society Haircare, it's our first branding client outside of the w**d business for over 5 years, while CBD is technically the cannabis business, our approach is totally GPC mass-market focused. It's a refreshing space for us to let down our hair and crack some jokes. Ironically, the legal w**d business is full of anxiety ridden people.

Mem-o-rees, misty water colored mem-o-rees.

Through out the 90's and early 20's I was fortunate to work in Hollywood with some true pioneers in the broadcast design world. With great designers like Marc Karzen, Bill Shortridge, Harry Marks, John Ridgway, Saul Bass, (trust me - big names in the biz) we literally kicked the Hollywood broadcast design community in it's unionized ass. We brought garden variety Macintosh desktop computers into the edit bay and began making high end graphics for less than a the cost of a 20 frame storyboard at any other studio. With folks like Tod Rundgren, Herbie Hancock, KRS1, and Def Leppard providing content, we showed Hollywood we could make music videos for MTV on computers bought at Best Buy. We went on to create graphics and brand packages for nearly every major network, s**t tons of commercial spots, several giant video walls, films, video games and one p**n video. Even today, much of this work is still on the air...we ripped it up.

Fast forward 20 years and every single piece of motion graphics you see on ANY screen today was done on a Mac (the crappy stuff was done on a PC).

Here's my demo reel from 2009, some of the old stuff is still on there.

Brilliant is all kinds of ways. They don't even have a booth at CES, yet they're one of the most visible brands at the show. The entire campaign cost a fraction of what it costs to host a huge booth. I'm curious if the Las Vegas tourism board charged Apple for usage of their tag line? If not, they should. Arguably, Vegas is a bigger brand than Apple, appropriation of "What happens in..." seems a little dubious in our opinion.

Apple is not among the exhibitors at the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show, but that didn't prevent the iPhone maker from sending a message to attendees on a large billboard.

As has been the norm for to***co, liquor and medicine... It sucks, but that's how capitalism works. Marketing, and branding strategy have never been more important, or academic. There's a paradigm shift coming in how retailers engage customers, creativity and big ideas are NOT the exclusive domain of deep pockets, it's all about being Remarkable.

President Donald Trump signed the 2018 Farm Bill last month, officially legalizing industrial h**p — but h**p entrepreneurs fear they’ll still struggle to promote their products.

Sky High Gardens just released a delightful new strain called Candy Glue...this is as good as it gets. We always have a great time with the folks at SHG, even after 4 years together, they still challenge us to be smarter than we usually are...the art for this one is no exception.

A few years back, we worked with Microsoft to build a video wall system in their retail stores. The Wall, is 40' X 3' and fills 3 walls inside the store. Here's a couple of the shots we took to fill the space.

180º of Hurricane Ridge, Olympic National Forest. You should be able to zoom in on the photo by hitting 'control +' on your keyboard, they're huge at 28,000 pixels wide.

Second two shots are of a high tide sunrise at Shi Shi beach.
