If you feel like you are just throwing out wild guesses with your marketing you are probably not alone.

Marketing is a huge area, and without proper planning, sometimes you are just willing the algorithm to let people see you without 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵 𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘰𝘯 why it should.

Here's how we do it at JI Design.

𝟭. 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆
Your time and effort spent on a pretty site is just going to go down the drain without strategy. Plan first, then execute, and you'll start to see results.

𝟮. 𝗪𝗲𝗯𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲
Only then do you create a website based around it. Don't just make a pretty site, make one that works.

𝟯. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
That human connection on the page will draw in the client you are actually looking for.

Sometimes finding inspiration can be hard. Staring at a computer screen willing it to come up with a color palette is never helpful.

When your mind settles into that zone, the best way to get out of it is to go outside and look at the color palettes that nature gives us. Sometimes they are amazing, sometimes not so good.

BUT what they are always good for, is inspiration. They give new perspectives, challenge us to consider new colors, and push us to try things out of the box.

Take a look at your business, your website, your marketing. It might look pretty, but have you done the hard work to push the strategy forward?

Looking at the individual raindrops means looking into the pieces that make your business who it is. What is it exactly that makes up your beautiful website, and what can you do to make it work how you want it to?

Your online presence should be treated with the same care you treat your plants (as long as you aren't like our Studio Director, Audrey, who can only keep succulents alive in the house).

The point is, it takes work. And work is hard to make time for.

But, by showing up consistently, you will tell your clients, and Google, that you are a consistent, well established force

It doesn't matter the field you are in, consistency is always key. Take care of your plants and they will give back to you.

JI Design and Marketing turned 11 this month! What a journey it has been. We are so thankful for all of your support, and so grateful we get to do what we do.

Hi, I'm Jen.

JI was created 11 years ago, named for Jen Inspired. It was born from a passion of helping small business owners and from there we have only grown.

We are in a super exciting time of growth ourselves, putting us in a prime position to help out fellow entrepreneurs in an age of digital transformation.

From wedding photography to directing the Sitka Chamber of Commerce, I’ve spent so much of my career building things and helping others build their passion projects. I’ve owned multiple businesses, so I know firsthand what it takes to run one, the hard work, the time, and the stresses.

Today I lead the JI Design team as its strategist, making sure every brand and website is built on a plan, not a guess. In my free time I am outdoors, from mountain tops to the ocean.
