Your audience is not expecting perfect marketing from you.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: They’re looking for signs of life. 👀

A recent update.
A behind-the-scenes moment.
A quick story.
A friendly caption.
A reminder that there are real humans behind the business who care and are still showing up.

In my newest blog post, I’m talking about why “perfect” content is often overrated, what actually builds trust online, and why small moments of visibility matter more than many business owners realize. ✨

If marketing has been feeling overwhelming lately, this one’s for you. 😌

Marketing should support your business - not completely take over your life.

I think a lot of business owners quietly feel like they’re “bad” at marketing because they can’t keep up with the pace the internet seems to demand.

Post more. Show up daily. Reply instantly. Film every moment. Be everywhere. Optimize everything.

And honestly? That pace just isn’t realistic or sustainable for most people running actual businesses and living actual lives.

You do not need to become a full-time content creator to market your business effectively.

You need realistic systems. Clear communication. Consistency you can actually maintain. And marketing that fits into your life instead of consuming it entirely. ❤️

Some seasons will be more visible than others. Some weeks will be slower. Some posts will be quick and simple. That’s okay.

I care a lot about helping business owners approach marketing in a way that feels sustainable because burnout is not a marketing strategy!

Your business should support your life - and your marketing should support your business, not run the whole show. ✨

Happy Pride Month, y'all! 🌈🥰

Every year, I find myself reflecting on how grateful I am to exist within such a vibrant, resilient, creative, and deeply supportive community.

Being surrounded by people who continue to choose authenticity, joy, self-expression, and humanity - in a world that doesn’t always make that easy - has shaped the way I move through both life and business in more ways than I can count.

So much of what I value most personally and professionally comes back to the q***r community: community over competition, showing up as your full self, creating spaces where people feel safe and seen, celebrating individuality, and finding beauty in authenticity instead of perfection.

I’m endlessly proud to be part of this community and endlessly inspired by it, too. 🌈

Here’s to q***r joy, q***r resilience, drag queens & kings, chosen family, self-expression, and continuing to build a world where people can exist fully and freely as themselves. ✨

Hiring a marketing consultant is a big investment - and not one to make lightly or do little research on. 😬 I’ve always been super passionate about looking out for fellow small business owners, and while it sometimes goes in one ear and out the other 🤣, I’ve done my very best to raise awareness on this within my community. Let’s dive into the nitty gritty - from communication and transparency to understanding who’s actually doing the work behind the scenes - some of the key elements that will make or break a small business’ success in the digital world. ✨

One of the best marketing tools you probably already have?

Your camera roll! 👀

Seriously.

So many business owners think they need a professional photoshoot every month to show up online consistently, when in reality, some of the most engaging content comes from everyday moments.

A quick before & after.
A photo from a job site.
A coffee-fueled workday.
A behind-the-scenes clip.
A team selfie.
A progress photo.
A treatment room moment.
A screenshot of kind client feedback.
A “here’s what we worked on today” post.

People don’t just want polished marketing anymore, especially in the era of AI! They want signs of life. They want connection. They want to see the humans behind the business. 😊

Honestly, some of the content that performs best for my clients is often the least “perfect” and the most real.

So the next time you think: “I don’t have anything to post…”
Take a peek at your camera roll first. ✨

I’ll always choose slow growth over soulless growth. ✨

Not because I lack ambition. Not because I don’t care about success. But because I’ve learned that bigger isn’t always better if it comes at the expense of your health, your values, your creativity, or your humanity.

I don’t want to build a business that feels rushed, disconnected, or transactional.

I want to know my clients. I want to create thoughtful work. I want space for creativity, rest, relationships, and real life. I want to collaborate with people whose values align with mine. I want my business to still feel like me as it grows.

There’s so much pressure online to scale faster, produce more, optimize everything, and constantly chase the next level. 😰

But honestly? Some of the most meaningful things in life grow slowly:
community, trust, relationships, confidence, creativity, sustainability.

And as someone who deeply values connection and intentionality, I think there’s something really beautiful about building something steady, human, and aligned over time. Who's with me!?

No “growth hacks” over here! Just good people, thoughtful work, and a business built with care. 😌

Another trip around the sun! ✨🎂

Feeling especially grateful this year for the people who make life feel full:
my sweet family, my husband, my friends, my clients, my community, good food, little adventures, cozy mornings, meaningful conversations, and all the small moments in between. 🫶🏼

This past year has stretched me in a lot of ways, but it’s also reminded me how beautiful it is to build a life and business that feel aligned, intentional, and deeply human.

Cheers to getting older, softer, wiser, and maybe just a tiny bit less of a people-pleaser perfectionist. 😂

I’ll always have a soft spot for community-centered businesses. ❤️

The ones that remember your name. The ones that genuinely care about the people they serve. The ones collaborating instead of competing. The ones showing up for local causes, events, artists, nonprofits, schools, and neighborhoods because they actually want to be part of something bigger than themselves.

You can feel the difference when a business is rooted in community. ✨

And honestly? That feeling translates into branding too.

The businesses people connect with most usually aren’t the ones trying the hardest to “go viral.” They’re the ones creating trust, familiarity, warmth, and real human connection over time.

That’s why I care so much about branding feeling human.

Because the most memorable brands aren’t just aesthetically pleasing. They feel welcoming. Grounded. Alive. Intentional. Like there are real people behind them who care.

As someone who lives and works in Olympia, I feel incredibly lucky to be surrounded by so many community-oriented businesses that remind me what thoughtful, people-first business can look like every day. 😌

For a long time, I thought being sensitive was something I needed to “toughen up” out of in business. 😞

I felt things deeply.
I overanalyzed interactions.
I noticed shifts in tone.
I cared a lot.
And if I’m being honest, criticism could sting more than I wanted it to.

But over time, I’ve realized sensitivity is also what makes me good at what I do. 😌

It helps me notice when messaging feels disconnected.
It helps me understand audiences on a human level.
It helps me create brands and content that actually feel like the people behind them.
It helps me sense when clients are overwhelmed, stuck, excited, nervous, or trying to hold too much at once.

Sensitivity has made me a more thoughtful collaborator, communicator, and creative.

Sure, I’m still learning not to carry everything emotionally (work in progress 😂), but I no longer see sensitivity as something that weakens my business.

I think it’s one of the things that gives it heart.

And honestly? In a world full of loud, fast, hyper-polished business advice, I think there’s something really powerful about people who still choose softness, care, empathy, and humanity. ❤️
