Prices have been set. We are existing in a very strong market right now. Last year‘s margin coverage prices were $4.56 on corn and $10.73 on beans. 

Our wheat protected price is currently the highest it’s been since 2023. Last year’s wheat projected price was $5.76.

Report is leaning bearish on beans but bullish on corn. With the strongest corn prices we’ve seen in three years, I am curious if this leads to an increasing acres for next year?

If you are concerned about the cost of inputs (diesel, natural gas, urea, potash, and DAP) rising between now and April or you are concerned that the commodity price will fall between now and Feb…Then margin coverage option (MCO) might be a good choice for you. 

We are still in the price discovery period. It ends on Sept 14 and a MCO application needs to be signed by the end of Sept if a farmer is interested.

I will be in touch more on this option once the prices are officially set, but it’s definitely something I are keeping an eye right now. If you have any questions or would like to set up an in person meeting…I’m happy to do so!

The pro farmer crop tour rolled through IN yesterday. Here is what they found. Yields below last year, but not as disastrous as some have feared with all this water… But perhaps it’s too early to tell?
