Between 1948 and 1975, the U.S. Army used former N**i scientists to help expose approximately 7,000 unwitting American soldiers to chemicals ranging from mustard gas and sarin to P*P and L*D. In fact, during these disturbing human experiments led by "Dr. Delirium" at Maryland's Edgewood Arsenal facility, the Army amassed a whopping $1 billion worth of L*D. In some experiments, doctors dripped deadly chemicals on the arms of volunteers to see how they reacted, and in others, soldiers were given pills without knowing what they were. "If they had told me what it did, I never would have taken it," one test subject later said after learning the "aspirin" he'd been given was really L*D.
