Jay Kyle was the leader of our small group at church. He was truly the kindest, humblest and most encouraging man I will probably ever know. When he worked briefly in a temporary role at the chirch we both attend, he would regularly check in to see how I was doing after I lost my dad, then he would pray with me. When Mike and o had a big family matter we were wrestling with, Jay and his wife met us at a coffee shop downtown to talk us through it- then he encouraged me and affirmed me. When I heard he was sick, I pleaded with God to give us more time with Jay, because this world is so much better of a place with him in it. But now, Heaven is much sweeter because Jay has joined the heavenly chorus. I will miss you Jay.
In 1977 our little church called down to our Presbyterian Church in America’s Mission to the World agency and said, “We need more missionaries to support!” They told us about Jay and Maureen Kyle…
