Dwight Eisenhower lived one of the most productive lives you can imagine. Eisenhower had an incredible ability to sustain his productivity not just for weeks or months, but for decades. And for that reason, it is no surprise that his methods for time management, task management, and productivity have been studied by many people.

His most famous productivity strategy is known as the Eisenhower Box and it’s a simple decision-making tool that you can use right now. Here’s how it works. Eisenhower’s strategy for taking action and organizing your tasks is simple. Using the decision matrix below, you will separate your actions based on four possibilities.

Urgent and important (tasks you will do immediately).
Important, but not urgent (tasks you will schedule to do later).
Urgent, but not important (tasks you will delegate to someone else).
Neither urgent nor important (tasks that you will eliminate).

The great thing about this matrix is that it can be used for broad productivity plans (“How should I spend my time each week?”) and for smaller, daily plans (“What should I do today?”).

How far have you pushed yourself in your personal goals?

Routines can be stable and comforting, but they can also turn stale and confining over time. All those inspirational messages telling you to break out of your comfort zone aren’t just trying to sell you bungee cords. Doing something new and potentially frightening helps stave off burnout and is good for your brain. Still, it’s pretty hard to shake yourself out of a routine, and there’s plenty of science explaining why—and how to do it.

It’s important to push the boundaries of your comfort zone, and when you do, it’s kind of a big deal. But what is the “comfort zone” exactly? Why is it that we tend to get comfortable with the familiar and our routines, but when we’re introduced to new and interesting things, the glimmer fades so quickly? Finally, what benefit do we derive from breaking out of our comfort zones, and how do we do it? Answering those questions is a tall order, but it’s not too hard to do. --Rebecca Fishbein

Labor Day, celebrated on the first Monday of every September, honors millions of hardworking Americans across the country. It’s a day in which the U.S. Department of Labor pays tribute to the “greatest worker in the world,” awarding time off with lively parades and festivals.

Although no one is certain who first proposed the national holiday, observed since 1887, it’s come to be known as the end of the summer event and the start of back-to-school season. But before you start thinking about buying supplies and clothes for the new school year, take a moment to truly enjoy a three-day weekend with delicious food and drinks.

No matter your profession, it's always refreshing to take a breath and enjoy a break. On September 7th, appreciate a well-deserved day off with a one last BBQ and an inspirational quote honoring the effort you’ve put in all year long.

A strong brand identity is not just about the logo design, a website or a business card – it is a combination of visuals and strategy.

Irrespective of the industry, every prosperous fortune 500 company or business, prioritize their brand building activities over any other aspect of their corporate maneuvers.

This results in designers, marketers and branding agencies being given the responsibility to create a brand identity for different companies.

Personal branding is about having clarity on who you are, what you do and why you do what you do. To achieve that clarity, many do need to make a mindset shift at the beginning of their personal branding journey. And this part is the most challenging. Here are five things to keep in mind on your branding journey.

If you leap out of bed each day with joy and song in your heart, then congratulations — you're most definitely a morning person. The rest of us have absolutely no idea how you do it and are dumbfounded when we hear about your positive morning routine. You know, that thing where you did an hour's worth of yoga, read a book, and had time to journal? It sounds nice. Really, it does.

You've got it down and are clearly awesome at creating a positive morning experience. So that's why this isn’t for you. This post is for my fellow cranky, grumbly morning haters who smack at their alarms wishing to kill it with fire and climb out of bed with a scowl. This is for my people whose first-morning thoughts are not exactly positive (a tad pessimistic). And it's definitely for my peeps who would like to change things up a bit.

What would an ideal productive morning look like for you? It doesn’t have to entail what the overachieving morning people accomplish despite us. It can be as simple as waking up 15 minutes earlier to make your bed and have breakfast before you start your day. It could mean laying out everything the night before so you don’t have to wake up 15 minutes earlier but instead have made up time so you can make your bed or munch on that beagle. See, I got you. While I am a firm believer in getting every second of sleep I can, I also know I have a better, productive, and less stressful day when I start my day with intent or in control. Chasing the day because you are running late is a recipe for disaster. A disaster that a lot of us find ourselves in 5 days a week. So take some time this week and find out what small adjustments in your day could better set you up for a better tomorrow. Find out what works and make it yours.

This week's is going to break the mold a bit. My Thursday post is a throwback to one of my personal favorite authors. I discovered Neil Gaiman in the early 2000's and have worked my way through most of his books since.

An article from TalkingBooks.com said: "Put simply, and with great risk of hyperbole, Neil Gaiman is one of the best fantasy writers of his generation, and the strengths of his writing are precisely the reason why Fantasy should be liberated from those who would turn it into a ghetto for Elves and Dwarves so that the approved fiction can glory in some other name.

Like all true Fantasy, Gaiman’s stories are about humans, that strange synthesis of the animal and the divine who stands at the threshold of eternity and complains about the weather. Even the most mundane of his stories are ablaze with real magic, the magic which can be found in a discarded wrapper or comfortable living-room as readily as in a ruined castle – the magic which, at its core, is a reflection of the people who observe it." And I couldn't have said it any better if I tried, and I did.

So if you are looking for a good book and a distraction from 2020 pick up a Gaiman novel.

Happy reading!
Megan

2. Introduce new products or services you’ve developed-- explain how they will help customers to achieve their professional goals and meet their business needs.
3. Differentiate yourself from your competitors-- use your company description to emphasize how you stand out from your competitors. Include company news and share information about your company culture.
4. Find employees who can make a significant contribution to your business success-- profiles reveal valuable information about people seeking jobs at your company, including their stability, their record of successful accomplishments, and their passion for what they do.
5. Check on what your competition is doing 👀-- By visiting the company pages of businesses serving your target market, it’s easier to monitor changes in your industry and track what your competition has accomplished.
